Autumn Sunrise Chistmas

I'm going to need a lot of Christmas cards, and this card panel looks like a wreath.

I colored it Christmasy and added a Christmas die cut.

Brutus Monroe Autumn Sunrise Card Panel/Papers from Autumn Sunrise Inspiration Box, Hero Arts Stamp & Cuts Merry, Copics

THEN, I got FANCY.

Check out this second pic with a CARD GUARD on. ;)

Brutus Monroe Card Guard

Now at first I fiddled with it...thinking "oh no! I bought three packs of these and they don't fit".

But once I cut the length of it, I slid this card right in.

Remove the sticker strip and fold it over

(stick the flap back on itself).

This will ensure that glue residue I missed, won't stick to the envelope I've slipped it in.

Ask me how many times that's happened.

 I'll answer...

 "too many times". ;)

I'm inspired by the whimsical card stories of Daniel West.

Here's my story...

Tim Holtz Halloween Cutouts, Brutus Monroe So Emotional, Papertrey Ink Bubble Talk die

a spider drops too close for comfort ~

(I literally had two spiders skirting my windshield while driving the other day. Even when I didn't see them I SAW them, you feel?).

I paired Brutus Monroe So Emotional with Tim Holtz Halloween Cutouts for the following challenges:

I colored and speckled the card with Copics and couldn't stop there...

Brutus Monroe Botanical Background/Happy Mail/ Triangle Acrylic Tray, My Favorite Things sentiment strips, Avery Elle Wonky Stitches, Copics, Red Heart yarn for poms, Pom Pom Maker, Uniball White

Now that I have a way to corral my homemade poms...I may be doing this more often!

I gifted a well deserved recipient with the card and poms...hopefully she feels loved!

Favorite Stamp Junkie

I couldn't possibly pick my favorite...but this sentiment is so sweet!

Brutus Monroe Happy Mail/Fall Leaf dies/Jawbreaker paper, Avery Elle Dotted Border

Can't pick my favorite Fall colors either; these days anything goes!

Not to mention, the colors in nature are transitioning daily.

I marvel at God's handiwork.

My daily walk to the mailbox has me studying the leaves ~they  camouflage themselves daily in a myriad of colors!

I can't believe I'm not hoarding my Brutus Monroe Jawbreaker paper pad.

I'm praying this is a permanent product there~it has my vote!

I pulled from several colors in the pattern to focus on and it all works ~

INkspirational DT Mask

It's time for another challenge at INkspirational!

Brutus Monroe Pumpkin Faces/Neon Aqua Pigments, CZ Design Thankful 2, Blacklight keychain, Avery Elle Wonky Stitches

This time the prompt was mask so I tried my hand at masking the pumpkins from Brutus Monroe Pumpkin Faces and painted with Neon Aqua Pigments.

I masked first with Versamark Ink and placed the color down and then I went back with ink again and white embossed.

The first attempt was to give me a guideline for where to place the colors.

The less diluted, the brighter the glow.

Thankful Wreath

Brutus Monroe Autumn Essentials wreath/Fall Leaf dies, CZ Design Thankful 2 die, Papertrey Ink Songbirds die

I still had so many leaves that needed card homes using a "dipped washi" technique, so I took my cue from this photo challenge:

http://theseinspiredchallenges.blogspot.com/2019/10/inspired-bygather.html

I continued the technique for the bird die and sentiment die for the following technique challenge:

You're My Favorite Person

"Just because" cards.... are always received wholeheartedly.

He loved it. ;)

He was super touched.

Brutus Monroe Autumn Essentials/Fall Leaf Dies/Twisted Tangerine Embossing Powder, Simon Says Stamp Playful Messages, My Favorite Things Wonky Stitched Circles, washi tape

Kinda went a little nuts with technique...I did all the dos in separate steps...intending separate cards.

It's like I invited various guests to a party...

the only one I was sure about was the mustard paper!

😆

The ones that played together nicely were these elements~

The leaves are washi dipped and circles paint dipped.

I also used embossing powder and die cutting for

Happy World Card Making Day

Brutus Monroe Jaw Breaker Paper/Neon Cardstock, Sunny Studio Stamps Holiday Style joy sentiment, Technique Tuesday Bubbles on the Border, Tim Holtz Sizzix Woodlands tree, fantastic die (Verve-out of biz)

 Happy World Card Making Day!

https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/blog/world-card-making-day-simon-style-2/

My fave technique: Happy Accidents.

Seriously, this eclectic Christmas card started with my "fantastic" die slipping into the Bubbles on the Border gold shimmer remnant.

It flowed from there.

I positioned fantastic to look intentional in movement and style.

http://justusgirlschallenge.blogspot.com/2019/10/just-us-girls-word-week-508.html

The flow needed a backdrop like this gorgeous paper from Brutus Monroe called Jaw Breaker.

I then matched the tree colors up.

Joy joy joy was heat embossed with three colors and I arranged them like music notes dancing.

I embrace accidents when it comes to crafting~I have to, or I'd have to give up creating! ;)

Forever & Always Dipped Tag Wedding

Simon Says Stamp Stitched Dress Up Tag, Brutus Monroe Autumn Sunrise Kit patterned paper/felt leaf, Colorado Craft Company Lovely Legs Happy Forevering sentiment

I love red and yellow together like this photo~check out the grey roof!

I went with a red leaf that was in my Brutus Monroe Inspiration Box Autumn Sunrise and let it share the color stage with yellow.

http://justusgirlschallenge.blogspot.com/2019/09/just-us-girls-507-photo-week.html

I used one of my favorite techniques of "dipping" my tag with paint.

I do this with washi at other times, too.

Dark & Twisty One Layer

Brutus Monroe Steampunk, The Ink Road Stamps Dark & Twisty sentiment, paper distresser

I don't often one layer it, but when I do, I want it memorable.

https://aaacards.blogspot.com/2019/09/cas-game-150-one-layer-optional-twist.html

This Brutus Monroe Steampunk lady makes it easy; the hat is where I have fun!

I went with a sunset design (cuz I can and she's willing to rock it).

One of my favorite techniques is to play around with Copics and create patterns or various color combos within an open space (like a sunset effect on her hat).
