~Make It Monday Ribbon Pleating~

I made some quick gifts to share today...

His and Hers Cocoa Packs with Flavored Spoons!

The "pockets" are some DP that's 8"X8". I cut one in half; folded it, and used 1/2" Scor-Tape on two loose sides.

I made a little "topper" fancy, by using the pleated ribbon technique showcased  by Dawn on Make It Monday #43
on the "hers".

I further feminized the "hers" with tassel poms made from twine.

The guy pocket just has a straight ribbon without poms on the hat.

Here's a behind shot of those cute snowman faces.

The spoons are easy peasy...just fill 1/3 Ramekin with chocolate chips, melt them in the microwave for about 40-50 seconds, and stir with a plastic spoon.

Shake on some peppermint sprinkles, and stick them (sitting up in a short cup) in the fridge for a few minutes. Once they harden, place them in pretzel bags (craft stores that sell baking bags should have them). Twist tie your goodies, and you have a perfect addition to a plain cocoa pack.

I slid the spoon above the cocoa pack...it's nestled in the little topper.

A great way to whip up an inexpensive couple gift...and use up some 8X8" DP!

Thanks for stopping in today-hope you got a bit of inspiration. ;)

~Tuesday Trigger Red and Rustic Apples~

What's with me and apples lately?

I have no idea, except that I love their simple design.

Cutting out perfect apples just makes sense right now. ;)

is beautiful, isn't it?

I mimicked the stripes in the photo, by backing the
apple shapes with striped paper.

I used red and brown Copic markers to color the stripes.

Those are spiral office clips along the twine.

I don't have a clue how to use them properly...but I bought them for embellishments, so that's ok. ;)

Thanks for peeking in. ;)

Supplies:

Papertrey Ink fruit fusion apple die,Papertrey Ink Communique Curves Sentiments,Papertrey Ink Premium Dye ink true black,DCWV Natural Stack DP,AC cardstock neutral pack,MS twine, office spiral clips,Versamark ink, Whispers white embossing powder

~Shiny, Shiny, Mirrored Paper~

Ooooooh, this paper is PRETTYYYYYYY....but very difficult to photograph.

It's like trying to capture a mirror!

I wouldn't dare stamp on this shimmery copper paper.

The DP has beautiful flowers.

I didn't want to cut through it!

The DCWV floral paper looks like copper in the photo, but it's lighter...like a metallic orange (the gridded paper is the same shimmery color-it's from the DCWV paper pack also).

I was able to use my "Sizzix phrase" embossing folder I've had for a few years.

It was less than a dollar from the Sizzix online outlet.

I added paper curls (my new thing...can you tell???). ;)

Color inspiration is from the Play Date Cafe PDCC108.

The sketch is inspired by CardPatterns Sketch 143.

inspired me to embellish with pearls.

I used a Sharpie to color some off-white pearls with the closest I had to maroon.

Thank you for stopping by today. ;)

Supplies:

DCWV Natural Stack,Sizzix embossing folder "For You" phrase, flat pearls, Sharpie

~Konnichiwa and a Sketch~

I love when I bring out this sweet stamp set, Konnichiwa, from My Cute Stamps.

Instead of slicing off that strip across the middle...I rolled it into a decorative piece.

You never know when you'll need that extra bit of paper...LOL.

The following challenges helped me along...

The Pay It Forward Challenge (World Hello Day)...who knew????

~Fight for Faith~

I love the color combo from Color Throwdown #168 this week.

I used it to make a masculine card.

Flag, You're It inspired me to "flag" the sentiment.  I used my Scor-pal for dimension in my flag.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today. ;)

~A Unity Flower~

I enjoyed making this simple card for any occasion.

The flower is from Unity.

I scored and fanned the DP to make a backdrop for the flower.

Isn't that trim fun?  It caught my eye at Wal-mart.

Supplies:

Unity Flower stamp,Kaisercraft rhinestones,Want2Scrap bling,Scor-pal,Memento ink

~Good Tidings and a Red Door~

I envisioned a red door, once I discovered this ODBD set.

My girls attend a class that has a red door...

Hope they get the meaning! ;)

The 3D gift box door was created with a 4X4 piece.

I stamped this beautiful ODBD door in the middle of it.

I used a blade to cut the door everywhere except the "hinges".

I colored the door with a Copic (it was easier to swipe with the broad head AFTER cutting the door out...I could fold it AWAY from the wall and work quickly).

Then, I scored 1/4" from every edge, then 1/2" also.

Fold it under at those folds and use 1/8" scor-tape on the outermost edge to secure to the card base.

(I stamped the sentiment and snowflakes from PTI before securing the door).

I used a small hole punch to create a hole on the door AND "wall".

I have this cool needle that splits in the middle, so you can take something as thick as this thread and string it through. (I wish I knew the name...I bought it blindly...but I'm so grateful for it).

Fun, huh?

It DOES fit in a regular envelope (hand carried, though).

Hope this springs some great ideas in your head~~~~~~

Thanks for stopping in. ;)
