A Blessed Christmas

I'm squeezing Christmas cards in now and again.

stamps: Papertrey Ink Spruce & Sprigs/A Thrill of Hope sentiment/Circle Scribbles
The following prompt gave me a nudge~
I'm all about non-traditional colors for Christmas~so I had fun with blue and purples on this one layer creation.

Quiet Voice

This sentiment gets me every time~

stamps: Essentials by Ellen Courage   dies: Essentials by Ellen Designer Home & Hearth   other: Ranger Alcohol Ink Yupo Paper, Spring Break Alcohol Inks,Alcohol Blending Solution

The following prompt is spot on:

There are days when I "snap"~

days when my whole self is shook.

The best I can do is breathe, pray, and try again tomorrow.

This powerful sentiment is stamped several times with black Staz On

over an alcohol ink-on-yupo creation.

(Alcohol Inks)

I used the following sketch:

It was the perfect showcase for alcohol inks on yupo and a sentiment to shine~

Don't Need a Reason

I recently acquired this Catherine Pooler set of modern flowers~

and I immediately wanted to ink them in black.

stamps: Catherine Pooler Designs Giggles  dies: Tuesday Morning Bubbles on the Border, Memory Box Pinpoint Main Street Tag

I contrasted them with bright background paper I've had forever for the following challenge:

The Dance

I've had this cute turtle stamp for awhile and I finally inked it!

stamps: Sister Stamps Turtle Set, Seaside Stampin' Ink Dance of Life  dies: Papertrey Ink Geode Layers, Technique Bubbles on the Border  other: Tim Holtz Distress green inks/waterbrush/watercolor paper, Versamark Ink, gold embossing powder, scoring tool

The technique linked at

was fun and easy!

First I inked a single turtle with versamark and gold embossed the image.

Next I pressed a couple of green shades from Tim Holtz Distress Inks on to his watercolor paper and saturated it with a waterbrush.

I didn't let any of the watercolor pieces go to waste~I cut "bubbles" out with Technique Tuesday's Bubbles on the Border die.

The hardest part was setting it aside to dry.

The sketch at Just Add Ink #421

was perfect for focusing on this accurate sentiment.

There's scoring on the sentiment panel for further highlighting.

Black and white designs are my fave, and I don't even know where I got that gold paper, but it was time to cut into it. ;)

Praying for You

I kept things clean and simple today~

stamps: Maymay Made It Blessed Inside and Out, Winnie & Walter In Bloom:Eva's Favorite Flowers  dies: My Favorite Things Rectangle Peek a Boo, Winnie & Walter In Bloom:Eva's Favorite Flowers

Honestly, I know people are praying for me right now.

My oldest has moved out to follow her dreams, and

I'm taking it waayyyyy better than I should.

These girls are my heart!

I'm super excited for her mostly~and the tears come in spurts.

My middle girlie is with her part of the time to help her settle in.

In my mind, my middle one is still with me, because her room hasn't changed.

I can only handle one being all grown, with her room echoing back at me!

Know that God has given me a peace above all understanding, and I'm positive friends are praying for that.

Baby girl is going to be a senior this year !!

When I saw this trendy, industrial prompt at Inspired By, I was motivated to create a back to school card for her.

She may be a big kid...but she will always be my little girl. :)
