~A Pink Journaling Tree~

I pray you are having a hopeful morning

~despite your situation today.

There are no words for what some have experienced and are dealing with right now.

Believe me, if I had the right words, I would write them.

I pray the Lord heal what was broken and bruised...

those precious hearts and minds that have been rattled.

~We are truly blessed, friends, to be alive while today is still today~

This leftover tree is from

the journaling card I created here,

and it stared at me LONG ENOUGH from my cluttered desk.

It was too pretty and joyful to leave buried under scraps.

I funned the tree  up by

adding black and grey Copic coloring to the edges to give it a jazzy look.

The dots are from my Sakura Souffle pen.

It takes a delicate touch to get the pouf (if you smear down too much, it will lay flat).

If you haven't used those pens, know that the shades are a bit lighter when they are completely dry.

I am entering this  card in

The Journaling Cards Challenge in the Moxie Fab World

It seemed natural to wrap the sentiment die cut around the card base,

because if I left it whole, it would have competed with the tree.

This falls in line with the theme of

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday #193

(create a card or project where your focal image falls off the page)

I am also inspired by the pink pink fun here at

Take care~

thankful

Thankful for this new day~

Thankful for a fresh start~

Thankful for being able to post that I'm thankful~

I took another try at The Play Date Cafe PDCC #155.

This time, I broke out my Stampendous Aged Ivory Embossing Enamel.

I drew "stitches" across the sentiment die with an embossing pen and sprinkled that magical powder and heated.

I then inked up the cardbase with my damaged Versamark pad

(read the sidebar about that oopsies...#5 on my list of YOU KNOW WHEN).

I can't bring myself to throw that old Versamark pad away...it was one of my first cardmaker investments!

I am also entering this in the

Square Punch Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

I used my square punch to create notched borders on my focal panel.

I created with dry AND wet embossing for

DYSU #95: Embossing Wet or Dry.

~Nothing is Impossible~

I pray this morning finds you safe, friends.

It has been quite a night, I'm sure, for many of you.

My internet seems to be working for now, so I am taking advantage of the clear signal to share this card I made.

I finally opened up my box of Faber Castell Metallic Gelatos.

I colored the outside of the butterfly window and along the borders of cream cardstock.

I "fingerpainted" it, by smudging the coloring.

If wet paint/ink freaks you out...you won't mind this~

Trust me, this is a great excuse for getting your fingertips inky
(but in a drier way).

I revved up my sewing machine for the

I picked the wavy line on my machine and ran a strip through the butterfly.

Creating Leaves and Using Letters

It's been hit or miss with the internet the past few days so I'll post this as quick as possible.

It's so ironic that I'm kicking leaves out the door thinking "what a mess,"
then I carefully die cut these leaves from a paper bag to

 CREATE

art.

LOL.

I took various distress inks to the letters and traced them with a white Uni-ball pen to stand out.

I would probably chat more, but my internet might blink off right before I do that sooooo

good bye for now!

Thanks for stopping in~

~ENJOY~

Yesterday smelled like summer & felt like summer~it was so weird!

Today looks like another chance of the same~YES!!!

One last second to

enjoy

the warmth!

This week at

CAS-ual Fridays CFC76,

the goal is to create a clean and simple project using Kraft.

The leaves may be crunchy and losing color...but we can still enjoy them~

~Off the Edge Hello~

Hello there friends~

Here's one more for

I used positive and negative die cuts for
hosted by Erin Lincoln.

I die cut a circle in the cardbase and added a DP panel that was stamped and embossed.

It was easier for me to stamp on a panel and adhere from behind the cardbase than to ink within the gap.

I created a "positive" frame by using two sizes of circle dies.

Hope you are having a great day so far~

~Glitz and Glam~

Crafty Friends Challenge

CFC #9: All Things Glitz and Glam

made me reach for the obvious Glitz paper and sticker.

The "vintage blue" DP design was also the obvious choice for the

DYSU Challenge #94 Vintage

I don't normally create elegant cards...but I just got Verve and needed an anniversary card, like NOW.

I stamped the sentiment on the rectangle die cut and the glitzy sticker fit right on top!

Don't you love it when the shoe fits???

I avoided a bow since it's going in the mail,...but knots are a great alternative!

~JUST BE~

I tend to OVERTHINK.

This stresses me out and leaves me emotionally paralyzed.

It's the "big sister" syndrome I carry.

Many times I need to just chuck it ~

 JUST BE

and move forward.

I kept my card simple for a couple of fun challenges-it was that, or not participate!

I love the outfit at

I let the red and tan colors take the stage.

I love the linage going on~I went with zigzaggy vs straight.

I took a cue from the open jacket and slanted the panel off of the cardbase for the challenge~

Yay for the grace to

~True Colors~

Teens and Pre-teens have it tough nowadays, don't they?

Good gravy, not only are they bullied ... but NOW it spreads viral.

I had Cyndi Lauper's tribute as a teen.

Boy, did this song oooze with therapy for me!

My girlies' generation have songs like Britt Nicole's "Headphones;"

she also sings encouragement into their souls(and mine for that matter).

Kids need to hear that they are awesome and accepted, you know?

I followed the maze of white from my favorite design in Basic Grey's Lauderdale pack~which left a cool and free result.

I fussy cut the kiss and sentiment "true colors"; then I embossed with my favorite embossing folder to press in the raw edges.

Placing the folder at an angle...I was careful to roll it through my Big Shot and spring back.  I did not follow through all the way, because it would have cracked a corner off of the folder.

Fantastic colors and a celebration at the

Wooo hooo! It's their 3Yr Anniversary!

Have a blessed day~

I love this 'lil image from Unity:All About Balance.

I'm sharing this at Unity's Friends With Flair
today.

I paper pieced her shoes and band...the rest I dabbled with Copics.

The edges of her panel were sketched with Gelatos~now those are fun to play with!

But, it's goin' to be sooo, like, AwEsOmE aNyWaY!!!

Sorry, ever since making this...I'm like, SOOO being a teenager (in the 80's) and like sooo irritating myself but can't stop. ;)

How do you like those funky tags that came off of my teen's new shirts???

Aren't they LiKe So CoOl????

hee hee hee.

OK, stopping, LiKe, NOW!

Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger: Val de Victorian

Told you these colors are on my mind....

I like the trendy vibe of lavender, pinks and pops of orange.

I also love the whimsical shapes that make you feel like you're in a dream~

Simon Says Stamp and Show:Your Favorite

These are my FAVORITE recycled tags to work with.

I just had to add the DP/kraft circles; then strategically place die cuts to hide the tag info.

They have the "So" already built in and the bigger pink tag to complement.

Plus, I'm being all responsible-like too, by recycling.

win! win!

yay! yay!

~Put Your Heart Into It~

~Put Your Heart Into It~

I used to watch "Clean House", esp. while we were trying to sell our house-go figure~ ;)

Niecy shared sound advice when one of the renovations wasn't received positively.

She said you can give gifts to others, but sometimes they don't WANT to receive them or aren't ready to receive them.

Have you been praying and praying for something or someone?

If it's God's will, pray you are ready to receive~or you'll miss the blessing~

Sweet 'n Sassy Virtual Stamp Day

inspired me to put the teeniest, tiniest tag here...

I LOVE the bright colors of this week's throwdown.

I'm not always into embracing life's changes...are you?

However, WITH us or WITHOUT us accepting them~ they happen.

Can you imagine some things

 NOT CHANGING?

Ummm, that could be depressing or even boring.

What would there be to look forward to~
