~We Bought a Zoo~

DYSU #77:Inspired By a Movie

I just saw the movie "We Bought a Zoo" ....I highly recommend it!

Rarely will I watch a movie over and over...but I watched it again with my Mom and then my sister within two weeks (I wanted to be there when they watched it).

I cried everytime.

There are some intense emotional scenes (I wouldn't recommend it for kids under 10).

~Happy Day~

Oh happy day...oh happy day...oh happy day...happy day...

When Jesus washed....

oh when he washed...

This is the song in my head. ;)

I created this card:

 ~Stamp:Hero Arts Thoughtful Messages;Ink:Papertrey ink premium dye true black;Paper:October Afternoon Sidewalks,BoBunny Ambrosia,Georgia Pacific white cardbase;Other: Crop-a-Dile corner chomper,sewing machine,Creative Memories oval cutter,Want2Scrap bling~

The oval was cut from a cool bag I kept.

The lace border was bought on my trip~it sure came in handy!

The stamp set was bought at a little pharmacy/anything store-what a blessed surprise to find quality stamps and ink there!

~Hope you're having a happy day today~

~ColourQ and Sketch Merci~

I've never taken French.

It seems like a gorgeous language~filled with elegance and mystique.

The Waltzingmouse Stamp set Paris Nouveau exudes that sophistication.

I used the border to decorate this Spellbinders postage stamp die cut cardbase.

using the colors from

These butterflies were fussy cut from BoBunny's Country Garden pack..there are a few of those beauties floating around in it.

In the graveyard basket that holds all miscellaneous tools and such...I went hunting for my mini stapler to attach the twine bow to the smaller butterfly.

It saves me having to find a glue dot small enough to adhere the twine to, and keeps me from
having problems with it sticking to other cards in my stash.

I'm keeping that lil' guy (18 years old) close by-he's upgraded to usefulness in my tools.

I believe I even have extra staples to go with it.

This is why I rarely get rid of anything!

Thanks for stopping in~

take care now!

~Eternal Summer~

Oooooh, today is a SCORCHER.

These are the days I'm glad my crafting nook is in the basement.

It balances out those cold winter months when I use a microwave-heated wrap.   ;)

I picked up this stamp set while visiting my family (yup I  snuck out to the nearest craft store and checked out the goods).

I love the huge lanterns in BoBunny's Serenity stamp set-endless possibilities!

It paired nicely with Flourishes' sentiment from the Hydrangea set~inked in several colors.

I used Staz On ink on vellum for CAS-ual Fridays:CFC57.

There is a bit of glitter and shine in the ribbon, and the gold part of the lantern was colored in with a Uni-ball pen (shiny in person).

Have a great day~thanks for stopping by and keeping me company. ;)

~Good Morning!~

While I was on vacation, the Waltzingmouse stamps won from Moxie Fab arrived at my house.

My husband (who stayed back and wasn't able to come with us this year) teased that he was playing with them~oh the torture!!!

I dreamed that I came home...hugged him and went searching for those stamps, accusing him of losing them.

LOL.

SICK, HUH?!!!

I couldn't wait to dive in and participate at the blog party...thank you, Claire, for your generous prize!

I love the colors in the inspiration photo-I used the teal, orange and white.

~Wishing You the Best Puffed Fabric Silhouette~

Check out Erin's wonderful tutorial at Nichole Heady's site.

By the way...LONG TIME NO BLOG!!!

Don't hate me, but I just got back from Hawaii this week.

Almost my whole family lives there, so it was a family reunion.

I got to hold my 4 month old nephew...hug my nieces and nephew, rub my sister's pregnant belly and shop with my other sister like a lil' school girl (we're silly, obnoxious and giddy...super fun) ;) .

Don't take those little moments for granted!

I got to hug my parents; tell them I love them face to face...and eat everything I miss from Hawaii.

We appreciate the once a year visits~it's always hard to say goodbye again...

sniff

Ok, here's my card:

I love this silhouette image.

Since it didn't have a smaller version for the "puff"...I trimmed off a bit of the sides and bottoms of the foam piece. I used batting for the second layer of puff.
