You Slay

Hero Arts My Monthly Hero August 2019 Kit, Papertrey Ink Modern Stencil, circle die, Sizzix Tim Holtz Retro Repeat die, Avery Elle Wonky Stitches, Ranger Dylusions Lemon Zest paint

I painted Dylusions paint through a stencil and went with a mostly clean presentation like Sandi Maciver's June Sympathy cards.

http://ablognamedhero.com/2019/09/september-challenge/

I love the sentiments that came with August's Monthly Hero set~the fonts are perfectly paired with the royal subjects' images.

As for the "stars" , they are leftovers from Sizzix Retro Repeat dies and my stitched panel is from Avery Elle Wonky Stitches.

Fall Pottery Card

I've waited a year for my friend to bring out her red glazed pottery.

Brutus Monroe Stamp of the Month sentiment/Inspiration Box Autumn Sunrise (felt leaf, sequins, coloring panel, cardstock)/Wave Background

She creates gorgeous work and this card wanted a pic with it. ;)

I made the card from pieces laying on my desk.

All had to do was stamp the sentiment multiple times.

Rock On Neon Primary

Brutus Monroe Rock On/Neon Aqua Pigments, My Favorite Things Gift Card Grooves, Avery Elle Wonky Stitches, Crimper, Blacklight flashlight

Still playing with Brutus Monroe Neon Aqua Pigments and a blacklight. ;)

This time I included a "pocket" to hold the blacklight flashlight.

I'm getting pretty generous with these little guys ;), but hey, it's what makes the card super special.

Not many peeps have them laying about, am I right?

Welcome Home Confetti Houses

Glad I got my hands on these houses~

Brutus Monroe Home Sweet Home/Bold Rainbow Pack, Folk Art Metallic Aquamarine Paint, Party Confetti

I prepared the panel with Metallic paint that was misplaced in the grocery aisle (those craft purchases don't count~HA!).

As far as I'm concerned beans, corn, paint...it's allll good right?
;)

Here's a tip with tiny embellishments that allow glue to peek out~

tap an embossing buddy or baby powder over the area, so it's not sticky.

Monochrome Sympathy

Brutus Monroe Inspiration Box Autumn Sunrise patterned papers, Papertrey Ink Geode dies, MayMay Made It Blessed Inside and Out sentiment

I'm grateful for the prompt at

because it got this card done.

I've been swerving from designing a "must" card because I was afraid of too many feels.

The photo prompt at Time Out Challenges helped too.

http://timeoutchallenges.blogspot.com/2019/09/challenge-144-home-photo.html

The uncolored panel from the Brutus Monroe Inspiration Box

(which included patterned paper) helped TONS, as well as the

Papertrey Ink Geode dies and MayMay Made it Blessed Inside and

 Out sentiment.

I corrugated the strip for texture (texture speaks comfort to me).

Now to sign, seal, deliver and pray.

Fall Vibes Steampunk Wreath

She is such a diva~

and insists on appearing in my creations. ;)

Brutus Monroe Inspiration Box Autumn Sunrise sequins/ Steampunk/Twisted Tangerine Embossing Powder/Slate Cardstock, scrap of Hero Arts Square Pattern

I had this panel handy (painted with a shimmer purple)~so I coordinated her outfit to match.

The wreath is from Brutus Monroe's latest Inspiration Box.

I embossed it with delicious Twisted Tangerine powder and sprinkled the sequins about (included in the box).

The scrap grounding this card is from a few cards ago~

Striped Scrap & Leaves

My Brutus Monroe Inspiration Box arrived and I've been playing. ;)

But first, my last card used stripes I stamped, and I had a wee scrap left.

I can't let any of it go to waste, because I'm proud of them. ;)

I had the foresight to cut the remainder out with a rectangle die.

Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Maple Leaf dies, Brutus Monroe Inspiration Box Autumn Sunrise chipboard leaf inked up/patterned paper, Papertrey Ink Super Stripes/Brushed Off Rectangle, Verve (no longer in business) sentiment

The inspiration box came with gorgeous chipboard leaves which I inked up with an ink pad to match the stripes.

It paired nicely with a turquoise die cut leaf I had.

The modern patterned paper came in the box, and my rustic knot is from thinly sliced cardstock.

Sentiment is from Verve (no longer in business but still a fave in my collection).

Thankful Stripes & Pumpkins

I'm a sucker for stripes.

You should see my closet! ;)

Brutus Monroe Pumpkin Faces, Papertrey Ink Super Stripes, Simon Says Stamp CZ Design Thankful 2 Die, Doodlebug Sprinkles

I got my hands on the new CZ Design Thankful 2 die and I love it!

I would recommend a metal shim though, for the smaller sentiment.

btw~I had to look it up...use the metal shim OUTSIDE of the cutting plates.

Maybe you can spot the obvious...I don't have that gift, so I'm letting you know, as a friend.

Maybe you felt dumb asking.

Run it twice, just to be sure it cuts through

(esp with thicker gold cardstock like this).

I did a little masking with the pumpkins~that's rare for me.

Why am I such a wuss-  😆-

~it's not bad!

I can't with myself at times.

Island Style

I mentioned I stamped a lot of turtles in various colors.

Hero Arts Color Layering Sea Turtle, KC Hawaii Island Style Stamps, My Favorite Things Stitched Square Stamps/Blueprints 11 panel (retired)

Gwendolyn's technique of using one layer of a layered stamp is one of my favorite ways to make sure I ink up my stamps.

http://ablognamedhero.com/2019/08/august-challenge/

I also like to mix and match stamp sets.

I picked a sentiment from KC Hawaii's Island Style Stamps to go with my graphic turtle.

DT Inkspirational-Crop

It's time for a new challenge at Inkspirational!

KC Hawaii Island Style Stamps Island Characters, Lawn Fawn Scripty Aloha

This time, the prompt is Crop.

http://inkspirationalchallenges.blogspot.com/

I stamped these Island Characters from KC Stamp.

I cropped the stamped panel and attached the sliver above for interest.

Lawn Fawn's Aloha script matches swimmingly!

Brutus Monroe Pumpkin Faces

You can't get much simpler than this~

I used

Brutus Monroe Pumpkin Faces (flipped it over for the solid shade)

and matched it to a sentiment.

Llama Say

My gosh this sentiment cracks me up!

Hero Arts Color Layering Fa La Llama stamps and dies/Square Pattern, square dies

It's from Hero Arts Color Layering Fa La Llama.

I also used an older background I've had since the beginning of my stampy days.

http://ablognamedhero.com/2019/08/august-challenge/

By using part of a background stamp, (like Seeka) and matching it with another set, I'm broadening the possibilities.

Colorado Craft Company Grad Class Note of Thanks

Colorado Stamp Company HOOKED ME UP with this timely Graduation set.

I made these cards back in April ~

I also created this design for my daughter's graduating class~

Colorado Craft Company Graduation, Papertrey Ink Happy Trails "Note of Thanks", Avery Elle Wonky Stitches, Tim Holtz Distress Inks, Versafine Onyx Black, Smokey Gray

I love that I could use a male and female image!!!

I masked and sponged their school colors on an Avery Elle Wonky Stitched panel with Tim Holtz Distress inks and stamped with Versafine Onyx Black (for the sentiments), Smokey Gray (for the images) and used Papertrey's Happy Trails "a note of thanks".

I'm submitting this for Stamptember at Simon Says Stamp's challenge and here's the deets:

https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/blog/colorado-craft-company-stamptember-2019-exclusive-collaboration/

Today there's a collaboration release and because I love you

(and I've already ordered mine 😉 )...

I read somewhere that the collaboration Stamptember sets are limited edition.

It's like pumpkin season guys.

RUNN...

My girlies have always danced and my middle daughter was a dance teacher ...

I KNOW how hard it is to find good dance images ~

(I've struggled for TEN YEARS  to gather my stash......)

If you love it, get it.

I don't say that often!

Thanks for stopping by friends~

Queen of the Glitter People

This sentiment cracks. me. up.

Inky Antics Crafty Comments, Hero Arts August 2019 My Monthly Hero Set queen, KaiserCraft Stonewall stencil, Vicki Boutin Iridescent Glitter Texture Paste

Of course I had to match it up with the perfect image...a queen from the recent My Monthly Hero.

The following challenge is to stretch your stamps...so I matched up various sets like Kristina ~

I definitely get more bang for my buck when it comes to marrying sets (no matter what company...they can all be friends!).

http://ablognamedhero.com/2019/08/august-challenge/

I sponged various colors through the KaiserCraft Stonewall stencil before applying a masked horizon with Vicki Boutin Iridescent Glitter Texture paste.

I immediately removed the mask and stencil and let it dry (that's the hardest part....the WAIT).
