You're the Zest

I had to ink up one more before the day was through...

 stamps: Altenew Main Squeeze

I let one fall in ;)

The July 2018 Inspiration Challenge at Altenew had me think,

why not?

I kept it simple with one layer of citrus image in each color:

Thanks for the visit!

Squeeze the Day

I recently attended a stamp show....WOW it was magical!

It wasn't huge, but enough to tempt and keep me entertained for 2 hours.

This set has been on my list for awhile now-

NOT an impulse buy is all I'm saying.

~Beachy Colors & Angled Layers~

stamps: Papertrey Ink What the Doodle Snowflakes, Our Daily Bread Designs Snowy Blessings  dies: Papertrey Ink What the Doodle Snowflakes,Memory Box Pinpoint Main Street Tag, My Favorite Things Peek a Boo Wonky Windows  Other:Copics for coloring and Nuvo drops

I took Time Out #114 colors out for another spin since there are scraps all over my desk in these shades!

:)

http://timeoutchallenges.blogspot.com/2018/07/challenge-114.html

I decided to go Christmas since it will be here before we know it and I'll be knee deep in parent school stuff.

This card has layers and angles galore!

I went crazy on this one~I always have one Christmas card that I can "go for broke" as we say in Hawaii. :)

I have a friend who's a graphic arts major, and she appreciates when I experiment and break traditional framing.

I've always admired brave clothing designers, especially Vera Wang because of her breakthrough asymmetrical designs.

She was angling and experimenting way before other designers picked it up.

Now hemlines like shark bite and hi-lo are acceptable even in kid's clothing!

I love it and hope that trend continues.

Thanks for the visit today!

~Wonderful Time of the Year~

This card came out way cleaner than I intended for

 hosted by Lizzie Jones

stamps and dies: Papertrey Ink What the Doodle Snowflakes

I had way more going on until I decided to strip it all away.

I left the focus on sentiments and snowflakes for a CAS effect.

I repeated the greeting on the left border in different colors.

Thanks for stopping in!

~Summer Treasure~

I've been working with snowflake images lately and needed a summer card break.

stamps: Avery Elle Stay Fresh,Papertrey Ink Palm Prints, Verve Treasured Words  dies: Avery Elle Stay Fresh, Papertrey Ink Palm Prints, My Favorite Things Lip Balm Window, Verve Rounded Rectangle

Abstract Heart You

More fun bits laying on my desk!

This time it's the paper~I die cut a patterned paper panel and snipped another to piece together this abstract card.

I left the striped end that connects this paper to a 6X6 paper pad.

The black and white stripes add the look of a tab, without another bulky layer.

stamps: Winnie & Walter In Bloom: Eva's Favorite Flowers/ LS Exclusives: So Tweet sentiment/True faceted strip  dies:
Winnie & Walter In Bloom: Eva's Favorite Flowers, My Favorite Things stitched squares  other: Heidi Swapp September Skies pp panel, American Crafts Dear Lizzy Happy Place green scrap

I'm inspired by the July color combo again, using a Winnie & Walter stamped flower and sentiment.

https://www.blog.winniewalter.com/2018/07/july-color-combo-with-heather-h.html

The True multifaceted stamped strip serves as a landing base for the stacked layers.

There are Nuvo drops for a little more green~

(I'm officially Nuvo obsessed- send help :)).

 Thanks for stopping by~

Roll With It

My remnants are numerous...and I'm determined to use them!

I mean, if I'm going to go through the trouble of die cutting and coloring the tiniest of tinies...they should be seen. ;)

They may be leftovers, but they were enough to build up a card.

stamps: My Favorite Things Sushi Date  dies: My Favorite Things Sushi Date/Peek a BooWonky Windows/Wonky Stitched Circles

The following sketch motivated this assembly~

http://www.cardchallenges.com/2018/07/wednesday-sketch-challenge-sketch-394.html

By stacking the tiniest elements on a platform, I was able to level the size factor~

so that a bowl could have as much impact as a panda.

Sending a Watercolored Wave

I watercolored a little, filling in the dark lines of this free magazine stamp and die set.

stamps and dies: Practical Publishing 2018 Whale of a Time  other: watercolors, Nuvo clear drops

The bold image takes center stage, perfect for a CAS creation.

I went for a stained glass look~not a realistic sea, but a colorful one.

Lil' Deer Birthday Blessings

This lil' deer was sitting on the desk~he coordinated well with a lone mushroom, also a leftover.

stamps: Avery Elle Windmill mushroom & sentiment, Papertrey Ink Make it Market (retired) Tinsel & Tags deer  dies:Technique Tuesday Bubbles on the Border,Avery Elle Windmill mushroom,Papertrey Ink Make it Market (retired) Tinsel & Tags deer   other: glitter washi, WeRMemory Keepers Journal Card

The journal card is a nice landing spot for tiny elements and a small sentiment.

I told you I can't put that border die down, right?

I lined it with glitter washi down the side.

Zappy Birthday in Throwdown Colors

is a fun one!

I die cut the skyline from Zappy Birthday and sponged through my homemade stencil for depth.

Hugs in Beachy Colors

I've been so busy this past year, card hugs are a big way I connect.

stamps: Winnie & Walter In Bloom:Shirley's Blooms  dies: Winnie & Walter In a Word: Hugs Cutaway, Technique Tuesday Bubbles on the Border

inspired me to ink the blooms in brown~I wouldn't have thought of that color!

The blues and tans inspired my beachy colors and watery Nuvo drops.

Plus, those bubbles I've got floating all over my desk~ha!

~Beach Day Birthday Wishes~

I have yet to let my feet hit the sand this summer...so beach living is on my mind!

stamps: Verve Borderline  dies: Technique Tuesday Bubbles on the Border, Taylored Expressions Crustaceans, Memory Box Pinpoint Main Street Tag, Simon Says Stamp Stitched Dress Up Tags circle  other: Simple Stories You are Here pp

Own Your Happy

This sentiment is spot on.

stamps: Pinkfresh Dream On sentiment, Papertrey Ink Glorious Globes:Basics  dies: Papertrey Ink Glorious Globes Basics/Brushed Off Rectangle/Geode Layers

As the years go by, I realize that circumstances don't define happiness or joy~

it's what's going on inside that does.

I put together a collage of colors and pp layers to mimic the pillows and scattered scene in the following inspiration:

http://fusioncardchallenge.blogspot.com/2018/07/fusion-outdoor-room.html

This could be anywhere in the world~isn't it delightful?!

The top die cut panel was sponged with peachy pink for a soft finish.

The shimmery sequins replicate the lights in the photo~

Playlist

I finally created a card using a stamp set I bought months ago.

I couldn't resist the sale, plus my daughters LOVE music!

stamps: Pinkfresh Studio Music Lover  dies: Technique Tuesday Bubbles on the Border

Years ago, I learned a valuable tip from Laurie at her blog soapboxcreations

using Press & Seal.

I would not have attempted this card without it.

Here I used Press & Seal to lift the bubble line from my extremely loved cutting plate~

I flipped it over to add glue ~

The final pic shows the back of the pink layer which you don't see in my finished card.

I try to use every. last. bit. of my precious cardstock.

Thanks for the visit!

Transformation Tuesday Summer Car Collage

is an opportunity to redo a card.

dies: Papertrey Ink On the Wagon/ Celebrate Big (limited time free customer set)/Tinsel & Tags scalloped circle, Taylored Expressions Crustaceans  other: Papertrey Ink Modern Background Stencil

Here's my masculine creation from last month:

https://marlenaisfaithfullycrafting.blogspot.com/2018/06/masculine-grad-card.html

I thought it would be fun to not only feminize it, but jazz it up for a celebration.

Summer is the time for bright colors~perfect for neon patterned paper.

I built up from there with a pink lobster and coordinating colors.

It should scream pah~teyyy. ;)

Have a good one~
