so is off the cardbase.

I was inspired to let that panel float~

just like

CASE Study Challenge #155
Jennifer McGuire

I also love the hearts in the inspiration, so I used one to frame a bitty sentiment.

Don't You KNOW????!!!

You DO know it, right????

You really do!

I mean, there is no one like you and there will never be again.

YUP.

It's true.

Whether or not you're the best YOU is up to you.

But, either way...

you.

 still.

matter.

and you would be missed.

Please believe that.

I LOVE to speckle with my Copics...but I tried something a little different here.

I took my "new to me" PTI The Sweet Life and staggered the various layers in colors represented at RIC.

BACK TO SCHOOL

Well, it's back to school people.....

We're a homeschooling family...so it means that we have to buckle down and crack open the books and software.

It's getting all serious-like around here.

However, I couldn't resist saturating myself with yummy Sunscreen spray that smells like Manoi Oil.

I don't have time for the beach, but I can still smell like it!!!

RIGHT????!!!!

Gratitude turns what we have into enough...

that pretty much says it all, doesn't it?!

This sentiment is perfect for the

I used a Sakura Souffle pen I've had for YEARS to faux stitch the card and an ancient stapler for embellishing.

When I bought the set of pens...I thought I would use it more often~shamefully,

I haven't.

However, I was grateful that it hadn't dried out yet~

Hope you get to use those ink pads and pens before they dry up...

thanks for stopping by today, friends~

Christmas Lilies

I've got another Christmas Card down!

I took a "non Christmas" stamp, Calla Lilies, and stamped the stem in a frame around this retired PSX image I picked up at a Scrapbook Yard Sale.

I created this for the

Holiday Card Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

Hope you are enjoying the last few free days of summer~

I achieved my goal of going to the "beach" ONE. MORE. TIME.

It's a Lake Beach that is about an hour away.

I've got sand all through my house...swishing in the washer and running out the dryer hose.

It's a MESS,

but it makes me smile when I hear it, because it's proof

that we DID have some fun~

YAYYY FOR SANDY MESSES and a planned lazy summer~LOL~

now to get back to schoolwork...

GIVE THANKS everyday

Don't need a holiday to be thankful

or to celebrate.

Years of military life trained us to treat everyday as special~holiday or not.

The days you are blessed to be together are the time to celebrate and be thankful~

The holidays you are apart are just another day~

It's a balance in power of holiday vs. everyday.

We have more "everyday" than "holiday" to work with...so why not make

EACH. AND. EVERY. ONE. COUNT.

EVERY DAY is an opportunity for joy~each are God's gift to us!!!

Pile on the Sweetness

Pile on the Sweetness August Diva Dare by Verve is going on now.

The Divas Andrea and Christyne are being honored for their lovely layered styles.

I don't layer often..but this challenge worked to my advantage.

Can you tell this is Christmas DP?

I layered over a reindeer with a beautiful Bible verse and flowers for an any day card.

The cranberry crush paper was edged with WPlus9 white to blend in the layers.

2 BATS, A SILENT SCREAM AND Make It Monday

I am slowly creating those Christmas Cards ...one by one.

I know, I know...but it will BE HERE BEFORE YOU KNOW IT.

You DO know that, right???

hosted by Ashley.

2BATS AND A SILENT SCREAM....

Last night, at 1:40 IN THE AM...my oldest poked my shoulder to wake me up.

"Mom, there are two bats in the living room".

uggers.

Since we are blessed with doors that shut the living room out, I said we'd ummm,

"deal with it"

tomorrow.

Barely slept a wink, by the way.

This morning...my youngest girlie
(who was born with super hero courage and strength)
joined me in the confrontation.

Ahem.

Let me rephrase that.

I timidly backed her up.

It was the mommy thing to do.

I was a ROYAL wimp last time...cowering in the living room while I let her catch a flying bat....

I didn't feel bad about it either.

 You should have seen her!

She didn't duck OR wince while doing it ...she was AH-MAY-ZING.

Have I told you how much I LOVE THAT KID?!!!!!

We are talking...almost sobbing...kept on hugging...

"I LOVE YOU SOOO MUCH KIDDO!!!" LOVE.

sigh.

She is the best.

THIS round, however,

I felt that sending her

into the living room to face TWO BATS...

just seemed....

well....

 wrong.

She IS only 12.

Plus, it wasn't like they were flying around...we had to HUNT for them...expecting them to ZOOM out from every corner.

The anticipation was almost too much to bear.

So, I put my BRAVEST mommy face on and I "assisted" her while

dressed in eargrabbers and gloves.

uggers.

We got 'em.

That's right~

not a scream was belted out either.

Well,

except for a silent one. ;)

To be honest, I was afraid to even open my mouth....

here is one 'lil guy (hiding under the couch) that she picked up with a towel and set outside...

(Don't worry, he eventually flew away.)

 What's that I hear????

Are you silently screaming too???

LOL.

I hear ya.
