Get It Done!

I don't know about you...but our house is in the "GET IT DONE" season.

Forget perfectionism or overthinking it...

get.

it.

done.

boom.

(stamps:Pink and Main Planner Peekers  dies:Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Banner Duo)

One reason I bought this set, was because we nicknamed babygirl,  Panda.

She was rattling off her list of homework assignments and within 10 min, I whipped up this card and handed it to her.

HA!

There is zero excuse to forgo creating and sharing...because ANYTHING GOES.

boom.

Fall Colored Christmas Card

One of the best things about searching for something in your stash...is you find items you forgot you had!

I stumbled upon these sweet frames~

(stamps: My Favorite Things Christmas Ornaments, Stampin' Up Borders Mini Frame  die:Avery Elle Wonky Stitches)

I gave these colors a go~

Papertrey October Blog Hop Challenge 2016

I aimed for the faded shades of autumn ~

The technique of dry brushing in

gave me a base to start with!

I mixed cream acrylic paint with True Black and Hawaiian Shore reinkers...dabbing on a little heavier than featherlike while brushing.

I scanned the gallery and there are GORGEOUS projects to behold!

I was inspired by this Mojo Monday sketch, but missed the deadline~

http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/2016/10/mojo-monday-470.html

This Monday isn't disastrous, but I'm keeping my head down just in case. :)

I was impressed I woke up before the alarm went off...so that's a good start anyway!

Then, I groggily attempted a second sports bra over my first...that was hard to maneuver out of~let me tell ya!

Next I ran out of deodorant after one arm's application~so I've got two scents going on!

Not disastrous, like I said...but stilllllll...I better watch myself because it may end up being that kind of day.

ha!!!

Happy Day Pumpkin

I know these aren't your traditional fall colors...but I love the blue pumpkins I see everywhere!

(stamps:Verve Everything Nice,Hero Arts Thoughtful Messages  dies:Verve Pumpkin Spice,My Favorite Things Wonky Stitched Circles  other:Blue Pearls gift with Verve order~thankyou!)

Here is something I came across that explains one why of blue pumpkins...

I thought that was interesting.

As for a challenge, check how well blue plays with red in this challenge!

http://just-add-ink.blogspot.com/2016/10/just-add-ink-334inspiration.html

Over half a lifetime ago, I cheered for my sister school's boy school that flaunted these colors.

The lime circle wanted to be included so I threw it in too. ;)

BTW, I was gifted with some gorgeous blue pearls from Verve~THANKYOU!

FAITH Bookmark Card

I've been thinking about some people and wanted to send a gifty card out.

Here is one version~

(stamps:Simon Says Scribble Flowers  dies:Simon Says Stamp Painted Faith,Avery Elle Bookmark set)

The smaller dies in this set can work as tabs to hold a bookmark.

Simon Says (Wednesday):Think Pink

It's a little early for sparkly garland...but I wanted to match the shiny washi I incorporated.

This bookmark can carry the recipient right into the winter season!

Thanks for stopping in on your busy day~

November Birthday

With days flying by, I didn't want to overlook my sister-in-law's birthday in November.

Seriously, I feel like I'm sailing along a slip-'n-slide and there's no end in sight until February!

Not complaining, just sayin'.

(stamps:Simon Says Stamp Wild Beauty sentiment/Scribble Flowers, Hero Arts Thoughtful Messages flowers,Unity Maple Girl  dies:Avery Elle Wonky Stitches/Dotted Elle-ments)

These colors stole my heart right away so I pulled them out ...

http://colourq.blogspot.com/2016/10/colourq-challenge-364.html

I used a different resist technique than my last post...I stamped circles over clear embossed flowers.

I think you can "color" anything with dots and circles.

I grabbed on to a moment to post...here I sail again...

Prayers and Resistible Flowers

I don't emboss as much as I should...

(stamps:Simon Says Stamp Wild Beauty/Prayers  die:Simon Says Stamp/Hero Arts Prayers)

This challenge motivated me to do a little resisting with embossing powders and sponging.

It was a gritty powder (sandy when dry, that is)...but it resisted just fine when I sponged on Black Soot distress ink.

Is it really only Tuesday?  I feel like I've endured so much more~ ha!

Have a good one guys~

Encouraging Tag Verse

Guys, we are so blessed to have crafty items at our fingertips.

I've wanted to make my own cards for as long as I can remember~

one, because they are expensive to buy and

two, because I love to create!

I have friends who need encouragement, because pain is a part of life.

I can't fix their pain.

But I can let them know that this is not the end.

(stamps:Our Daily Bread Designs Scripture Series 3  dies:Little Yellow Bicycle word die,Simon Says Stamp Stitched Dress Up Tag,Avery Elle Wonky Stitches  other:washi)

Challenges help get the ball rolling...

I've got every color here except green from the following inspirational challenge~

http://ourdailybreaddesignsblog.blogspot.com/2016/10/odbdslc279-color-challenge.html

I pray you cardmakers out there keep doing what you do, because the desire to do so is a gift from God!

Not everyone enjoys creating, or feels the need to.

For those that do, you're in good company!

Create Along With Us October 2016

Papertrey's release this month was outstanding~

there was so much to ooh and aah over!

I love participating in the Create Along With Us challenges...

here is another card to add to my Christmas stash.

(stamps:Papertrey Ink City Scene/Spruce and Sprigs  dies:Papertrey Ink Wonderful Words Joy/Songbirds)

I was drawn to Betsy Veldman's gorgeous card here...

I CASEd  her colors and layout with unexpected buildings.

I had to have the city set but I don't use it as much as I'd like.

Anytime I'm inspired to ink them up, I go for it!

Keepin it Basic

So, teens have a saying about "basic"...it's usually derogatory.

I kept this card as basic as possible-but I won't apologize. :)

(stamps:Inkadinkado Test Tubes, Verve sentiment,Hero Arts DC174 Kelly's To Do List lines)

I've wanted beaker stamps for some time now, so I could make a  science card.

This year my daughter has a male science teacher...so the Throwdown colors and inspiration photo were spot on!

http://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com/2016/10/color-throwdown-414.html

I kept the lines and presentation basic-and I'm ok with that.

I'm not sure when I'll need it...but at least I have it in my stash.

Thanks for stopping in guys~

Good Tidings

Like I said in my previous post....I'm getting those Christmas cards done!

(stamp: Papertrey Ink In the Meadow  dies:Papertrey Ink In the Meadow, Avery Elle Wonky Stitches)

This scrap piece of stripes made me think of a sweater. ;)

"Good Tidings" sentiment

Has your store been clashing between Thanksgiving and Christmas displays?

Mine has, and maybe that's why I thought orange could go with red and greens.  hahahaha...

Well it does today!

I say, why not?  We live in an age where all patterns are matchy and colors too!

Grab everything guys, and put those scraps to work.

Take care~

Merry Christmas Flowers

I've organized my cards and um....I need to get crackin' on Christmas cards guys!!!

Joy to the World Blue

I'm thrilled when another Christmas card is created, especially if I had fun making it and used scrap pieces.

I couldn't let go of that solid strip below the sentiment~glad I kept it handy!

Pointy and Such

I went all angular and pointy...just for the fun of it.

(stamps:Hero Arts Joy to the World/CL551 Decorate Your Holiday  die:Hero Arts DC174 Kelly's To Do List)

I'm not sure who on my Christmas card list will like this as much as I do...but it was one of those cards that had to happen.

Perhaps my graphic arts friend will tilt her head, hold it at arms length, and appreciate the freestyle of it. :)

Either way, I had fun creating it.

Thanks for stopping in!

Doily & Dress

I'm sharing a girly-girl card today!

(stamps:Verve  Everything Nice  dies:Verve Gown Die,Simon Says Stamp Greeting Blocks,Avery Elle Wonky Stitches  other:Doodlebug Mini Paper Doilies/Beetle Black Sprinkles,After Dark Enamel Dots)

I was inspired by this lovely sketch.

http://vlvsketches.blogspot.com/2016/10/viva-la-verve-october-sketch-1.html

I watercolored paper and diecut the dress,

and used washi on paper for the glittery accents.

Hope your Wednesday is running smooth~

(stamps: Verve Great Friend,Hero Arts Prayers  dies:Hero Arts Prayers,My Favorite Things Peek-a-Boo Wonky Windows,Avery Elle Dotted Borders/Wonky Stitches)

Yay for an inspirational sketch!

Hey I'm praying for you...I know there are some that are in hairy, scary situations with the hurricane.

May God show you mercy and provisions during this time....

may He make His presence known to those that seek Him.

Background Building With Frames

I finally purchased On the Links dies to match the stamp set.

MIM challenge this week gave me a great excuse to use them.

(Papertrey Ink On the Links stamps and dies)

host:Amy Sheffer

Amy says if you don't have frames you can create one...and as I was looking at my dies, I thought the golf cart was "framelike" so I went from there.

Thanks for stopping by!

Another Coffee Card

I've got another coffee card~

(stamps:Verve Coffee Helps  die:Verve Cup for All Seasons/Lovely Marquee, Papertrey Ink What the Doodle Waves,Sizzix Life Made Simple)

So are you seeing the leaves turn yet?

It's taking awhile here, I hope we get a full array of colors.

I'm looking forward to it!

So far we have wind, rain and fog...

which make for an ominous atmosphere.

I feel like we are in a horror film when I see the school bus sitting at the end of the road with the lights and engine running...

just sitting there.

I wave every morning when I pass her, even though I can't really see whether or not she's waving back.

She has no idea how much it freaks me out to pass her every day.

I'm sure she's nice.

I pray she's nice.

ha

Once the fog clears I'm sure it won't look as spooky.
