Pink and Purple CASE

Papertrey Ink's Team and Project Favorites

I was inspired by Melissa Phillips' stunning pink and purple tag-it's a winning combo!

I layered a flower with scalloped circles that were inked with elements from Rosie Posie. The center flower was created with multiple fancy circles stamped around the center fancy circle.

I really like these colors married...a bit of gray was added to mimic the silver in her creation.

Yay for another day of stamping fun!!!

~Rustic Jar of Sea~

There are so many fun challenges to play with...it's hard to choose sometimes, isn't it?

I DO LOVE how they inspire and motivate me to finish a card, though!

I picked up some of this and that which were sitting on my desk~waiting for a card to call home.

I used a jar filled with the "sea" for the
Jars of Joy Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

I added birthday banners for the
There She Goes Birthday Celebration Day 4:Banners
with a birthday theme.

Although we are a homeschooling family....back to school is

BaCk tO sChOoL...bUsY, BuSy, bUsY crazy for us too!!!

We have to get up earlier and be all serious like around here.

I created a card to showcase the chaos and excitement swirling around.

I stamped the letters in with Hero Arts/Basic Grey Best of the Best.

The panel is a Spellbinders Large Label stamped with KaiserCraft Numbers and a masked Jenni Bowlin Composition stamp (isn't he the cutest wittle notebook?).

The following challenges inspired me to create at the last minute:

Word Art Wednesday July 25

This is my last week as guest designer for Word Art Wednesday.

It was such a blessing~thank you ladies, for having me!

Here is the card I created with this week's quote.

I suspect that most of the battles we face first, are in the mind.

It can be so discouraging when we take our eyes off of God and look at our feeble selves.

I KNOW I'm not all that.

But HE IS.

When I focus on that...I can face another day!

As for details on the construction of this card...

I resized the beautiful quote and printed it. Then, I stamped clouds from KaiserCraft's Fine & Sunny over the sentiments and cut them out.

The kite is from Pink Paislee's Prairie Hill-I heat embossed it with Stampendous Pearlustre Rubellite.

The arches were made by die cutting Spellbinders classic circles...four at the same time.

I sure hope you'll join us this week to share your work!

Also, check out the color combo at Color Throwdown #202

~For My Mom~

My Mom loves roses.

I ordered this set to create her cards.

*Papertrey Ink Year of the Flowers:Roses,Versamark ink,Stampendous detail clear embossing powder,Papertrey ink true black premium ink,Papertrey Ink Eyelet lace border die,Xyron,Teresa Collins World Traveler,Ranger Tim Holtz distress ink fired brick, black glitter,Georgia Pacific white cardstock,American Crafts cardstock for cardbase,Tim Holtz distress tool,Kaisercraft rhinestones*

This sentiment describes my Mom.

She's a hard worker, considerate, honest and generous.

The world is blessed to have her in it-

especially those who cross her path!

I loved using the resist embossing technique with these gorgeous flowers.

I kept rubbing the fired brick ink pad around until it was the vibrancy I wanted.

The hardest part, was revealing some of the "world wonders" on the DP layer, without losing my focus on the roses.

I kept moving around that panel, and trimmed away before I lost my nerve!

I used black glitter on the border die after running it through the Xyron.

~Just One Word ~

gives me a chance to thank my girlies who really touched me with their gifts this year.

A couple of weeks ago, I participated in Moxie Fab's Tuesday Trigger, which was a Partridge in a Pear Tree....and last week's LIM was Music.

When I opened my stocking stuffers this year...my daughter said, "I remember you doing that challenge with a partridge in a pear tree so I picked this stamp".

Also, there was a music punch. ;)

Another punch was there, plus a stamp that had the word LOVE which I used here.

Being loved is one thing.

FEELING loved is another.

sniff.

To my girlies...

who pay attention to what is important to me.

~Medallion and a Verse~

The Championing Award Medallions Challenge in the Moxie Fab World
is going on now.

There are some awesome pics to get your craftiness going. ;)

I first spotted the use of these at Becca's site.

She is a paper engineer~you wouldn't believe all she comes up with.

It inspired me to create my own medallions for this card.

I altered the perfect medallion with a twist.

Literally.

I die cut scalloped circles;cut a slit to the center, and scored the folds.

The black medallion has two circles adhered together.

I borrowed the sketch from ODBDSLC83 Sketch.

The ODBD sentiment stamp is such a great verse Matt 6:6.

~A reminder to intercede in secret.

The off-centered flower is stamped from Unity.

Are you afraid to use those Copic Markers?

I was at first.

Then, I had fun.

I dabbed.

It's way easier than coloring...it will build your confidence.

Try dabbing in those colors with your copics...the brush stroke end.

~Merii Kurisumasu~

Another NEW ADORABLE stamp to play with...

great opportunity to brush up on my Japanese Katakana.

I went to Japanese school (an hour after grade school) and followed up in High school.
I'm no expert, but I do want to share that there is a special alphabet, Katakana, which is used for English words said with a Japanese pronunciation.

Hence the special "Merii Kurisumasu" (meh ree kuu ree suu mah suu)...

or "Merry Christmas" as you know it. ;)

The "r"s are not pronounced "rrrrrr" but more like a "lllllllrrr" with a roll of the tongue.

It took forever to get that sound to come out of my mouth.

Believe me, I was corrected NUMEROUS times...

"MARINA-SAN, say it again....LLLLLRRRAAAA"

(Marina-san)...."rrraaa"

"ee-eh, (no)

...LLLLLRRRRAAAA".

No worries, I got it (it's embarrassing to twist your tongue and get it to cooperate in front of a room full of children)

It stuck. ;)

Inspiration from Textured to Perfection Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

Texture's there

with my Spellbinder stacked embossed circles creating lift in the background;

the bendy tree all bendy;

and the crumpled tissue (polka dot green) from
my blog candy win from Jaclyn Miller's blog (just had to credit her generosity one more time).

I also added a layer of stiff felt for the snow with scribbles of, well,
SCRIBBLES that are glittery by Duncan.

My colors are lended from Color Throwdown #164.

Thank you for stopping in today, it's always a pleasure when you visit. ;)

Artsy Reinking

Make It Monday #22  has a video to guide you on multi-color stamping with ink refills.

Hey, I gave it a try, here is my effort:

You may not recognize the two flowers on the right.  They were assembled by me, using the dot, dot, dot, dot (there are six of them) in the Grunge Me set and a stem from my Kaisercraft's La Di Da.

Can you guess which flower was stamped first?  It got a little messy by the second one...sorry. ;(

It was an artsy technique that produced interesting results I think.

Thanks for peeking at it. ;)
