~Torn Away in Brilliance~

A young man was torn away from this earth on Friday.

15.

Young, vibrant...full of life.

May Jesus be with his family and friends who are suffering an unspeakable loss.

A fitting theme for our corner of the world right now.

There are no words for such a loss.

~For Baby~

I don't make enough of these...

I should!

Babies are such a blessing and they grow fast!

Before we know it...the babies aren't babies. ;(

I used Papertrey Ink's Bitty Baby Blessings ducky here.

I was inspired by the theme at

Less is More:Week 80 One-Layer Fur or Feathers.

I was going to sew on it for Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday,

but decided to stop at the piercing.

The lines are thin and I didn't trust my sewing! ;)

I'm sure that this mini-card will come in handy for a quick gift-sewn or not.

The recipient won't have the time or energy to notice the missed stitches~

Supplies:

Stamp: Papertrey Ink Bitty Baby Blessings
Ink:Tsukineko Memento ink rich cocoa and pear tart
Ek Success retro flower punch

~LIM Blue and Green/DYSU Polka Dot~

Less Is More Week 79:Colour

Blue & Green

I stamped and stamped and stamped some more.

I had lots of fun with this one...

It makes my head all swimmy! ;)

I really enjoy my dots~they are my favorite elements in any stamp set.

~July 2012 Blog Hop~

Today is Papertrey Ink's July Blog Hop!

Here is my CAS creation~

based on inspirational photo colors:

I pulled out my BoBunny Country Garden pack for this one~all that color is packed into that lil' apple!

I added sewing for Less Is More:Week 77 ~Sewing

The gorgeous frame is from Joan's generous prize pack that included Little Yellow Bicycle's Clear Cuts Shapes~LOVE!!!

One quote I've heard this week at archery camp that convicted me

...."BE TEACHABLE"...

Yes, you are NEVER too old to learn new things.

I signed up with my girls and I'm learning a ton of lil' details about holding a bow; aiming at the target; etc.

Just when I think I know what I'm doing...there's another step!

It's just like life, I guess. ;)

I kept most of the card white with just a pop of color for

Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger: Sweet Season.

The stitches I chose for my card mimic the subtle ruffles in the cake...the frame has gentle dots circling around...

Thanks for stopping in today~I appreciate the company! ;)

~LIM and the Q~

Less Is More Week 76:One Layer 3

Three of anything that is, three colours, three images, three stamps, three words, the number three.... it's up to you, but don't forget the white space, a simple design and just one layer!

It took many, many, many attempts to get these ladies lined up
(the middle one dipped).

I enjoyed it...very therapeutic! ;)

I felt like something was needed under the sentiment, so I drew a line with 3 little squiggles. ;)

I matched up the Unity Itty Bitty Share Your Smile with 3 leaves from Waltzingmouse's Teeny Trees.

My colors were inspired by the

~U N ME~

I love this week's color at Less Is More Week 75

GOLD!

I found these scrap metal letters that I've had forever.

I stamped with Papertrey Ink's Year of the Flowers:Roses' leaf on texture for

Make It Monday #74:Stamping on Texture.

The roses are beautiful in that set...but the leaf proves it's worth too!

I am entering this card in Stamp It:Cards Love Card Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

Versamark ink, gold embossing powder, and my crimper were my GO TO tools for this CAS card.

Hope you are having a terrific day and are motivated to create something beautiful~

~Eternal Summer~

Oooooh, today is a SCORCHER.

These are the days I'm glad my crafting nook is in the basement.

It balances out those cold winter months when I use a microwave-heated wrap.   ;)

I picked up this stamp set while visiting my family (yup I  snuck out to the nearest craft store and checked out the goods).

I love the huge lanterns in BoBunny's Serenity stamp set-endless possibilities!

It paired nicely with Flourishes' sentiment from the Hydrangea set~inked in several colors.

I used Staz On ink on vellum for CAS-ual Fridays:CFC57.

There is a bit of glitter and shine in the ribbon, and the gold part of the lantern was colored in with a Uni-ball pen (shiny in person).

Have a great day~thanks for stopping by and keeping me company. ;)

~TYPEWRITERS AND A BALLOON~

*My Mind's Eye Rosy Everything~Staz On Fuchsia Pink and Pumpkin,Memento Ink tuxedo black~Zig Markers pink and orange~Georgia Pacific white cardstock*

My doodlings are the strings broken off the typewriters and balloon.

Originally, the sentiment "Happy Funny Silly" was going to be used.

However, the sentiment "thank you" gives another meaning and purpose for this card.

I've been in the balloon, so to speak...taking vacation and leaving important matters in the hands of others.

I've also been the one crushed by the typewriters (responsibilities and such) while someone (who I'm covering for) heads off to bliss. ;)

A different perspective on either end, I'd say.

My bold color choices are inspired by The Play Date Cafe: PDCC #128

I love these colors!!!

Have a great day with typewriters or balloons. ;)

~LIM Week 60 Recipe~

I missed the past week of Less is More - it slipped past quickly.

I'm jumping in this week!

I used the following three challenges from their vault:

Week 56:Don't scrap it
Week 33:Anything goes (I figured I would use this grace card!) ;)
Week 7:Masculine (I believe it is bare enough for a guy-no frills)

*Verve Beautiful You,Memento Ink Tuxedo black,Authentique Renown DP,Basic Grey Curio DP,Oak from Summer's End/Fancy Pants,Crop-A-Dile Corner Chomper,deckle scissors,Georgia Pacific white cardstock*

All the pieces on this card are scraps that were laying around my desk.

I rounded the corners of the orange piece and used deckle scissors for the oak DP.

I wrapped the thin strips around the larger piece as if they were ribbon.

It has a bit of lift and dimension.

I then stamped this wonderful sentiment that

impacted me when I was a preteen.

There have been so many forks in the road since then!

Those less popular HAVE made all the difference.

I hope you have an awesome week.

~Keep on Rolling~

I created a card for a volunteer at my daughter's bowling league.

She's quite a trooper!

She leads the fundraisers and has been quite busy lately.

The Lord laid her on my heart.

*The Alley Way Stamps adoraBOWL,Teresa Collins Posh,Memento ink tuxedo black,Versamark ink,Ranger super fine detail black embossing powder,Copic gray,Memento marker rose bud,zig pen black,Georgia Pacific white cardstock*

I jumped at buying adoraBOWL the minute I saw it.

I stamped the pin on a scrap piece of paper.

Then I cut it out and left the "frame" to mask with.

I have a script in my Teresa Collins set, which I inked  a few times to fill the pin.

I stamped the pin again, over the script, and outlined for dramatic effect.

The fun part, is the ball can be colored however you like.

Hope she likes pink!

~LIM CASual Scraps and a Pun~

Less Is More Week 56:Don't Scrap It!

Aaaah, the perfect opportunity to use this delicious fruit I've had sitting around-waiting to be loved.

(The Craft's Meow Fruity for You,Pearlescent liquid acrylic macaw green,Versmark ink,Whispers black embossing powder,Teresa Collins DP,Georgia Pacific grey,Kid's Jewelry Friendship thread)

I was tickled to receive a gorgeous bottle of Pearlescent green liquid acrylic from a sweet lady at church. (She has generously passed bags of crafty goodness to me the past three Sundays).

I was playing right away and used it to paint over cardstock.

I then stamped and heat embossed the pear and fussy cut it.

Yummy Iridescence!

That pear definitely needed to star somewhere.

The pieces of cardstock here are also scraps.

I love using them, because I get a surprise shape like the orange triangle.

The punny statement is perfect for

CAS-ual Friday CFC 41

Have a great weekend~ ;)

~LIM Thinking of You with a Diecut~

Less is More Week 55 Theme : Punches or Die Cuts

(Inspired Stamps Strength sentiment,Hero Arts/Basic Grey Exclusive Collection Borders,Papertrey Ink eyelet lace border die,Memento ink tuxedo black,Versamark ink,Stampendous Pearlustre embossing powder,Georgia Pacific black cardstock,Bazzill cardstock,Scor-Tape 1/4")

I enjoyed playing with this new embossing powder.

Besides partially sprinkling the borders I stamped, I also got some within the diecut.

I lay 1/4"  Scor-Tape down, and lay the border die cut on it.

The embossing powder was sprinkled in the openings, and heated.

Hope you are having a great weekend. ;)

~LIM Week 54 Striped Hearts~

This week at Less Is More, Chrissie and Mandi are challenging us to use
STRIPES on a one-layer card.

I used my Ellison Tipsy Hearts die and used the negative to mask off my JustRite rectangle stamper.

(Sentiment: Basic Grey Tranquil,JustRite stamper,Ellison Tipsy Hearts Die,Memento Ink tuxedo and rose bud,Georgia Pacific white cardstock)

I then shaded the edges with the opposing inks.

There are some awesome entries so far...check out the amazing creations!

~Second LIM:Masking~

This week's Less Is More Challenge is a sketch!

This is my second entry.

I've seen so many beautiful submissions that entailed masking borders.

I figured this was the challenge to give it a go! ;)

(Basic Grey Tranquil,Technique Tuesday Growing Wild,Tim Holtz Distress Inks marmalade and pine, stipple brush,Creative Memories corner rounder,Copic marker for pollen,American Crafts AC cardstock)

I masked the border with post-it notes and laid some quilling strips down in a zigzag.

A stipple brush was used to apply two distress inks that were chosen for

FYI: For Your Inspiration Challenge #22.

Once again...a gorgeous photo! I can't get it out of my head.

The greens, oranges and yellow HAD to make it onto my card.

There is no greater artist than God!

Thanks for stopping by...especially if it was more than once today! ;)

I really do appreciate it.

~Purple Trees~

I really love these trees from Unity.

"Big Round Ball trees" my husband calls 'em. ;)

I want to thank a generous family who blessed us this Christmas with "gourmet meals in a box".

SERIOUS gourmet food.

The kind that makes you literally "MMMMMM" out loud and makes your eyes bug out.

SERIOUS gourmet.

Oh, right...my card. ;)

~Just One Word ~

gives me a chance to thank my girlies who really touched me with their gifts this year.

A couple of weeks ago, I participated in Moxie Fab's Tuesday Trigger, which was a Partridge in a Pear Tree....and last week's LIM was Music.

When I opened my stocking stuffers this year...my daughter said, "I remember you doing that challenge with a partridge in a pear tree so I picked this stamp".

Also, there was a music punch. ;)

Another punch was there, plus a stamp that had the word LOVE which I used here.

Being loved is one thing.

FEELING loved is another.

sniff.

To my girlies...

~A Note Of Thanks~

I wanted to make a "note" for Ren-Yi.

Girlfriend is so busy, but still took the time to mail a stamp I won at her blog. ;)

I used my oldie but goodie Sizzix embossing folder to make this simple card.

My Gelly Roll "X"s helped the treble clef stand out a bit.
