~TEE-rific!~

I made a card for my husband's aunt who is in her eighties and an avid golfer.

She's in better shape than me, I tell ya!

Gorgeous color combo!

My fun sketch is from CardPatterns Sketch 161

I may not be able to golf, but I can make a card for someone who does.

I find that satisfying. ;)

~Rejoice!~

I played with my Beyond Borders stamps and worked my way up the card.

*I Heart Papers Mint Motif Beyond Borders,Flourishes He is Risen, Memento ink rich cocoa,Staz-On pumpkin and red,Piggy Tales DP,Scor-Tape 1/2",Georgia Pacific white cardbase*

Doesn't it look like a dress?

Hence this is my first submission to Runway Inspired.

 Challenge #7

The backdrop of blue really pops the red.

My "belt" serves the same purpose.

See my modern "bow"?

I took the remaining piece of my strip of blue and folded it over and over and bent it to pop up.

I chose my colors for Color Throwdown 182.

I love these colors together!

Finally, I was welcomed to

"We'd love for you to use it to play along with us, but if you are working on another project that has scripture or an encouraging quote, you can share that too."

I feel the awesome sentiment is the bodice...right where my heart is!

REJOICE!

~OLW Stamp,Stamp,Stamp~

Jennifer is hosting OLW #79

Stamp, stamp, stamp with three or more stamps!

There are three different stamps here (I added the squiggle to highlight "favorite").

Here is my second card.

(The Craft's Meow Fruity for You,Memento inks rosebud and bamboo leaves,Want2Scrap bling)

I wanted to add more color this time and play with my new stamp set from The Craft's Meow: Fruity for You!

I had my eye on it for awhile now, and was recently blessed to pick a set.

It was easy peasy to line up the pears and stamp one time.

There are 5 different stamps~the leaf was stamped twice.

Thank you for hosting this challenge, Jennifer!

Have an awesome weekend. ;)

~PlayDate Cafe Colors and a Testimony~

I love this verse.

The Lord knows how weak I am.

He knows I need Him everyday.

Every decision I make, He's there.

He's there because I ask Him to be.

I need Him.  Without Him, I'm just lil' ole weak Marlena

Scared of her shadow

Scared of making mistakes

Scared of rejection

I step out anyway.

I step out because of Him.

Jesus is all I have to truly offer you.

He is worth it.

He is everything.

~Treasures Hidden in My House~

I stumbled upon a treasure in my house.

It's called "The Vintage Buttons I Gave Away Before I Was a CardMaker".

I knew I had more buttons from Great Aunt Grace.

(I Heart Papers Mint Motif Beyond Borders,Authentique Blissful DP,Vintage button tag,Memento ink bahama blue,Bazzill cardstock,Spellbinders Labels Eleven)

Praise God I have sweet girlies. After this treasure was revealed and my jaw dropped on the floor..LOL

OF COURSE my girls let me dig through the treasure and pull out ones that have an awesome graphic like this vintage beauty.

Yah, the buttons are cool too, but the graphic is AUTHENTIC.

I mean, it even has the sentiment ON THE BUTTON TAG.

All I had to do was die cut within the yucky parts.

I thought it would be cool to match the image with the graphic border from Mint Motif.

My colors were chosen for The Play Date Cafe PDCC118.

Thanks for stopping by. ;)

~Man Card~

Our Craft Lounge 101 Zig Zag

and One Layer Wednesday 75

led me to this card:

(supplies:Papertrey Ink In the Meadow deer,I Heart Papers Mint Motif Beyond Borders,Papertrey Ink Game On sentiment,Staz On pumpkin,Ranger Distress ink pine needle and marmalade,Georgia Pacific 110 lb cardbase)

Now, originally my zigs were zagged so straight and true, but I smudged my fingers on the pristine white.

I figured...perfection isn't me.

I embraced the cool, stomped/ripped,nothing fits look that seems to be in now.

I didn't intend for reindeer's behind to look so textured, but I really did like it after the fact.

Here is the straight and true for those that are curious:

See? It's a bit warped on the bottom, because I viciously took a baby wipe to my Oompa-Loompa finger smudges created at the last second....arrrgh.

My orange and green combo is inspired by For Your Inspiration Challenge #22

What a gorgeous photo!  I have something prettier in the works, but I wanted to make sure and credit this challenge, because it DID choose my colors for this masculine card.

Thank you for stopping by today, it makes my day! ;)

~Border Punch Trees that are Icicles~

I love all the Moxie Challenges popping up.

(winter inspired challenge).

These scraps were laying on my desk.

The DP looked so great on grey...
I was blessed to win it from Amy.

The trees border punch was used to look like icicles.

~Pill Tracker~

I've been forgetful lately about whether or not I took my allergy medicine right before bed.

I know they sell those weekly medicine containers...but I thought I'd DIY the concept. ;)

I used my Creative Memories Jumbo Blooming Star Pattern to cut out this shape from 3 cereal boxes which I then layered.

I stamped the Kraft side to make it pretty.

The fishing line, being clear, was perfect for viewing what day I'm on when I slide the button over.

No more second guessing whether or not I took that pill!

~Luminary Gifts~

I've finally got my gifts done for my fellow ringers!!!

These ladies are so special to me-we practice handbells every week for our church.

I was MOTIVATED to get these done in time for the

Here is my Candle Luminary (for battery-operated candles ONLY) .

My Box Pleats tutorial is here, it will get you started if you want to make some also.

Once you've accomplished Box Pleats, trim it to be 7" high and stamp each "plateau" with a border stamp, before you do the folding.

Here is one done:

Time to fold....

AAAAHHHHH,

I could just stare at this beautiful stack of boxed pleats-they are so addictive!

For the "belt", I used the leftover strips and trimmed the white 1 1/2"X11";
the grey are 2"X11".

I scored them just as I did the pleats for the luminary, and glued them together, but instead of "plateaus" as the feature..the "valleys" are the feature.

I used glue along the "Plateaus" of the belt and a strip of 1/2" Scor-Tape to attach the ends.

The stamped & embossed Spellbinder label four is the "buckle".

Here are all the luminaries again:

From behind:

Although they are the same, each is unique in the speckling I did on top with two Copic markers.

I am also entering this in

Wee Memories Challenge 78 Free for All

Get Inspired in the Kitchen Challenge in the Moxie Fab World

inspired me to use those AWESOME  Mint Motif Beyond Borders stamp I just got!!!

I waited for months for it to restock...I literally STALKED I Heart Papers to see if it was back in.

They were so faithful in letting me know when they had more.

They didn't forget me!  sniff.

i heart them. ;)

Thank you for stopping by, hope you were inspired to create these.

If you're interested, I have another style of luminary I did here.

~Running With the Crown~

When someone calls me "Queen", facetious or not,

I CLAIM IT AND RUN!

My husband calls me Queen all the time, LOL.

Hmmmmm

Sometimes he's being a stink;

sometimes he's being sweet.

I'm saving this card for one of the stinker times.

Laurel has a new challenge I stumbled on

I was inspired by the letters being separated on each vase. It made me think of placing the letters in each frame of the border.

The royalty aspect?

Why MOXIE FAB, of course, daaaaahling. ;)

I've had that "N" laying around...

waiting to be used, along with the crown.

Finally, the colors were inspired by For Your Inspiration Challenge 19.

Purples and gold have been at the back of my mind since eying this gorgeous photo.

I think my husband would appreciate this card in context.

Sassy or kind,I AM his queen, after all.

*wink*

Thank you for stopping in today. ;)
