Razzleberry Botanical and the Q

Know what razzleberry is?

If you do....you are almost halfway there to joining the ColourQ #94 challenge!

I looked razzleberry up.

You can click...it takes you to wikipedia.

I trust wikipedia. ;)

I don't know if that's what the Q had in mind, but it was an interesting thing to know, anyway. ;)

I went botanical also, for another entry in
Fanatical About Botanical Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.
Here is the ColourQ's pic so you can see the razzleberry.

I can SEE the razzleberry.

HOWEVER, the word RAZZLEBERRY stumped me.

I had to do research.

Can you tell I like that word?

RAZZLEBERRY.

Cool word. ;)

Why you don't you give these challenges a try?

Thanks for stopping in, it's really sweet when you do. ;)

My Friend, the Card

Have you ever started a card with a plan, and then set it aside,
only to start other cards which bloom and grow and get the limelight in blogland?

Meanwhile, that card you started with gets fiddled with a little...and then set aside again.

This is the first card I started on 3 posts ago...and it has finally come to completion.

Good grief, it almost feels like a friend. ;)

Here is my friend, the card.

I have been adding and taking away from this card for a few days.

I started with the smallest elements at the top.

I stamped a flower on a circle and cut it up like pie.

Those colors I focused on were passed to this card.

I stamped botanical elements onto patterned paper for the

Fanatical About Botanical Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

Those pieces were set aside while I went in another direction.

Then, I took one of the pieces of striped paper, stamped with a botanical look, and die cut it with my ODBD Chickadee die.

It represents my "High flying" element for ODBDSLC68 Phrase Inspiration Challenge.

I am so grateful for Card Patterns Sketch # 124...it married my elements together.

kept my colors oceany.  The shutters had lines which I thought my patterned paper picked up.

I shared all that to say,

sometimes it takes a lot of work to make a friend. ;)

Thanks for hanging out here. ;)

Peaceful Summer Living

PalsPaperArts 102 has a cool title for their challenge.

"Summertime and the Livin' is Easy".

The title alone is inspirational.

Here is my card.

based on this gorgeous photo...

I loved the colors in this photo, and the slats of wood.

I used my Scor-Pal to make tiles, like in a bathroom.

I was inspired by Leanne's site, which was where I first saw this look.

Running my memento ink over the tiles, I then embossed it with my Sizzix shells embossing folder for a subtle texture.

The strip across the center was decorated with tissue pieces cut from my Papertrey eyelet lace border die.

I figured this sentiment from JustRite's Simple Blessings was perfect for this card.

Thanks for stopping in. ;)

MIM #24 and a Dry Brush

Papertrey's MIM #24 is inspiring, as usual. ;)

This week....Dry Brushing!

I've dabbed with a stipple brush before.

This challenge actually called for brush strokes.

I used Acrylic paint since that's what Lisa used in her tutorial, and I liked the color I had in stock.

Usually I use Papertrey's All Booked Up circles as individual focal points.

I tried using all four as a backdrop, and the sentiment got center stage!

I propped the sentiment up with scraps to create bookends.

Give it a try...you'll feel like an artist. ;)

Thanks for peeking in. ;)

Happy Cupcakeless Day!

is YUMMY!

You have to check out everyone's work...they are sooo cute.

I finally got mine done. ;)

I was so happy with this card...

until I read the sentiment again.

Sigh

....now, my sister (the recipient)

will laugh at the irony.

Happy Cupcake Day with a picture of a cake.

She soooo gets me. ;)

I crossed out the cupcake for you.

Would you have noticed if I didn't say something?

I just wanted you to know that I know what a cupcake looks like, ok?

Embellish Nautical Trends Lighthouse Snapshots

Embellish has a Nautical Challenge!

I own one nautical stamp, so deciding on which stamp wasn't an issue. ;)

I struggled with how to showcase it.

tick      tick      tick     tick     tick     tick

I decided to SNAPSHOT my lighthouse.

I framed the shots with a 3 window corrugated mat, using Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Pendant Die.

The top is swiped with Memento Summer Sky and the trim with Rich Cocoa.

There's a family that loves lighthouses and goes to Outer Banks almost every summer...

Hence "SUMMER" along a strip.....

Three more windows were die cut with challenge colors, to border the frames.

Thanks for looking! ;)
