~Forget the Scale~

I got inspired by the dreaded "scale" at the back of a hosiery envelope.

I cut it out to save for a card.

This is what popped in my head:

I know I will need to encourage some girlfriend by spring.

That girlfriend could be me!   LOL

I've already put on a few since Thanksgiving...sigh

A couple of challenges helped me get this card done:

Be encouraged! ;)

Time to Say Goodbye

It's time to say goodbye soon.

Abby  is such a sweet girl.

She's dying.

We've been seeing the signs since May.

She's still fiesty and strong...but we know the time is near.

What a blessing she's been to Amanda, my youngest.

I had no idea a rat could get into my heart

or make such a difference in a little girl.

But, she has.

I've seen Amanda mature the past two and half years since she adopted Abby.

She showed herself capable of handling the responsibilities of another.

Amanda's faithful in feeding, watering, and being a friend.

Now she's faithful in making sure her rat's comfortable and not hurting.

She knew the day she went blind.

From then on, she made sure Abby could sniff the treat she daily brought her.

I'm so proud of my daughter and her patient loving care for Abby.

I am dreading the goodbye.

Furniture too Expensive, But I Can Make a Card!

Using an inspirational photo and a wonderful sketch, I was able to make a card today.

My basket stamp on the larger die cut mimics the gorgeous furniture I can't buy right now. ;)

The branch mimics the greenery in the background.

Can you see those pillows?

The picture is bigger at the link for Crate and Barrel.

They are gorgeous pillows that inspired me to stamp the flowers with Versamark and emboss with white powder.

I colored the bigger flowers with Memento markers.

You know what I found out?

If you stamp with Versamark, white emboss and get a little marker on the embossed area when you color...you can wipe that marker right off the embossed area!

I used a slightly damp baby wipe (it had been sitting out for oopsies and wasn't soaking wet).

You might already know that....but it was NEWS TO ME...GOOD NEWS!

SIGH...IF ONLY THERE WERE DO-OVERS LIKE THAT IN THE REAL WORLD.

Right?

I used Mojo Monday's 200th sketch

Thank you for stopping in, I really appreciate it. ;)

Time is Fleeting ... Celebrate

"Seek the LORD while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. " Isa 55:6

My husband has gone back to school.  It's so interesting and funny to hear what the college kids are like, 18 years since I was in that environment.

Well, it is mostly funny, because he's a dad and looks at them from Dad's perspective.
He gets furious when they wear shorts in 40 degree weather.

It irritates him to see them texting in class...

you get the idea. ;)

Anyway, back to time....

Did you know that many young people don't wear watches?

Why bother?

They use their phones to tell the time.

Such a little detail that I would've missed, but my husband catches.

Here is another Christmas card for

ODBD Stamping In Time: On Assignment Challenge(SNTODBD38).

I used ODBD Time.

I know the clock isn't complete.

I did that on purpose. ;)

I wanted it to look like it was deteriorating,

JUST LIKE TIME.

Here are some details ....

My layout is inspired by Mojo Monday 199.

~I used office spiral clips to represent the scalloped border.
~The smaller circle is represented by a key tag.
~Large acrylic block used to stamp background.
~Scallop Circle used as a template for markings with Fantastix tool and Memento Ink

~Partially cut out the clock with Spellbinders' Scallop Circle using cutting plates from my smaller Ellison Tag-A-Long which I lined up only on the bottom of the clock. This was stacked on a Multipurpose platform and I ran it through my Big Shot.

~Under the "flap" of the clock, I inserted an embossed triangle that was inked with Tim Holtz's Tea Dye Distress Ink.

I believe I got all the details in....

Thank you for stopping in...... see how many watches YOU notice around you. ;)

Stamps: ODBD TIME, Studio G snowflakes
Ink: Tim Holtz, Versamark, red glitter embossing powder, Memento Ink
Other: Fantastix tool, Spellbinders Scallop Circles, Ellison Tim Holtz Retro Circles embossing folder, large acrylic block for background

Take a Bow and Mojo Monday Times 3!

Mojo Monday 194 was just the inspiration I needed this week!

My three girls are performing in their first dance recitals!!!  There is a lot of excitement/nervousness in the air.  I am thrilled for them and can't wait to see them shine on stage!!

The sketch looks like a curtain rising or falling to me...so here are the cards I made for my girlies:

I have no idea how to dress for this occasion; any ideas would be helpful.  I can expect to bring lots of tissue!  ;)

Thanks for stopping by today.  ;)
