Even a "chin up" doesn't cut it at times, you know?

Keeping it CAS again for

This next card is a collage-style card...filled with different "littles" to come together as a whole~including a recycled tag and rhinestones arranged on a gold heart.

For my second card I flipped a sketch horizontally.

Runway and a Sketch/Black & White Pizazz with Florals

I love the look of black & white lines combined with bright florals/colors.

I'm seeing it everywhere.

Imagine my delight when I saw the Runway's/CAS(E)'s newest inspiration!

It's a 2fer guys!!!! ;)  FUN!!!

http://runwayinspired.blogspot.com/2014/04/ric58-trina-turk.html

My version of the sketch is flipped~the half circle being the white section of the card.

I happened to have this cardstock remnant that just needed filled, like a bowl, with the flowers and verse.

I stamped some bright florals to bring that pop of color out from the black and white.

It's rainy, but warm here...

I'LL TAKE IT!!! ;)

TRUE FREEDOM

There was once a time when I was in bondage to fear and sin~

a time when I didn't know what it meant to be free.

Free to be bold~free to love~free to forgive~free to create~free to think~free to rest~free to listen~free to be,

well,

FREE.

Easter is so precious to me~especially since it was near and around that time, 15 years ago, that I asked Jesus to rule my life.

I knew about Him...I had celebrated many Easters before for as long as I could remember.

But this time, it was different.

This NEW didn't come with a longer set of rules....of DON'Ts and UH UH's.

No, in fact, it was the opposite.

It came with a "I love you and I did this for you...so that you don't HAVE TO do things to prove your worth to me Marlena".

"All you are asked...

 is to receive it;

be grateful for it;

live like your life has changed...

BECAUSE IT HAS.

Finally...proclaim it.

Share your testimony and share what I've done in your life."

Yes, Jesus.

I will.

~Happy Easter my friends~

Better Together & Sending Prayers

You have got to see the inspiration at CASE Study Challenge #187

April Muse, Jaclyn

took cute scraps and combined them into 'lil treasures...I decided to mimic the spirit of the look with fiesty pattern scraps and sequins for this card.

One thing I've always loved about her bold style...is she's not afraid to match rockin' patterns~ with three teen girlies in the house...it's right where I'm at these days.

While I had that patterned paper out from Studio Calico, I made a simple card.

Word Art Wednesday Challenge #128 Anything Goes

I love that the angled look is in...I was never great with straight lines~LOL.

Perfection is just not me.... ~wink~

Where There Is Love

When it's all said and done...love is what endures.

Nothing else comes close to filling that void.

Beautiful sentiment~so true, so true! I used the following sketch as a starting point...

http://vlvsketches.blogspot.com/2014/04/viva-la-verve-april-2014-week-2.html

I am also participating in week Verve's Week 1's challenge.

April Week 1 Sketch/Color Challenge

~I chose the colors~

http://vlvsketches.blogspot.com/2014/04/vlv-april-week-1-recap-viewfinder.html

Since I've got three girlies, I made two similars.

I've attached a mini-post it note for a pop of color here to complement the vibrant Sketchbook pattern.

This post-it note is a touch of note for CAS-ology's newest challenge

http://casology.blogspot.com/2014/04/week-91-note.html

A couple of stamped runners from Better Together~just beyond the borders of the Authentique paper, almost looks like washi for my last card.

Well, that's it for me today.

The Q and Smiling Flowers

When the flowers show up, it really does seem as if they're smiling...

especially around these parts where gloomy doomy has been the norm.

Look at the beautiful colors featured at

ColourQ Challenge #237.

I don't have gray ribbon handy, and even if I did...it wouldn't work for me.

I just can't seem to get bows down.

However, I've been turning to paper shreds for embellishing lately~we are more on friendly terms and I've got tons of colors handy.

I had some crafting time today...yay me!!! ;)

Simon Monday Challenge: Journey

had me reach for my Tim Holtz stamps which I acquired during my busy month of March.

My dad loves classic cars...so this image should make him smile inside.

See that tag peeking out?

It's another clothing tag~I love the quality of these bad boys!

It's WIN-WIN lately when we've bought clothes for the girlies~they've been donning these gorgeous, inspirational tags~they are TRUE ART, I tell ya.
