Floral Tan Set

Since I've started making sets...I'm much more efficient with my supplies and crafty time.

(stamps: Verve Get Well, Flourishes Lots of Thought  dies: WPlus9 Written on Ribbon, Papertrey Ink Movers and Shakers Spinners,Spellbinders Scalloped Ovals/Deckled Rectangles  other: Cuttlebug Embossing folder)

I started off with this card

and used the extra pieces to make this one.

I haven't embossed in ages, so it was nice to bring my Cuttlebug folder out.

I should let the others come out to play sometime too~ ;)

Well, it's the start of another week.

Are you ready?

I am attempting to be.... ;)

Sock Monkey Treat Bag

I've envisioned this project since watching Monday's tutorial...and I'm pretty proud of the fact that it actually got done!

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday #225:Die Cut Shaped Boxes
hosted by Ashley

I created a Sock Monkey Treat Bag with my Papertrey Ink Snowman Die.

I based the front and back off a garland I created a few years ago.

Amanda still has that garland and still loves Sock Monkeys so I'll probably use this as a gift bag for her.

(die: Papertrey Ink Shape-up Series Snowman  stamps: Technique Tuesday Inner Circle (mouth)/Ordinary Days (eyes))

That's it for me...I'm going to take a look see at the wonderful gallery of projects that linked up.

I quickly glanced at the thumbnails and they are ADORABLE!!!

Ashley's tutorial could be used with just about any die...I'm going to have to remember the instructions for the insert. ;)

Latte Latte Latte

I used the chevron paper from my previous card and free Verve digital while I'm still in the coffee creative mood...

(stamp: Verve digital freebie , The Crafts Meow Welcome to the Office coffee ring  dies:Verve Lovely Marquee/Rounded Rectangle  Sizzix Tag  coloring mediums: Copics, Nail polish, Memento pens, American Crafts Chalk Pen)

BTW, hurry and download your free digi by Oct 15th at Verve

I went all Fallish for Autumn Lovelies (you have until the 5th to link here)

It's no secret I love painting nail polish on my cards (edging on the die)...

These two feature some form of coloring for

I just had a cold coffee drink and I'm telling you I could use another...

Sorry for the Short Fuse

I hope I never mail this card...

ya know what I'm saying???

If I lose it enough to have to send a card....

oy.

(stamp: MFT ALM Firecracker, Technique Tuesday Inner Circle  other: Sizzix tag die, Copics)

I don't even want to admit how many cards I've attempted for this CAS-ology's Challenge...

OK

OK

 I'll tell you.

You made me break.

geesh, YOU. ARE. GOOD. ;)

4.

I am soooo not a science girl...just an English Lit snob ;).

Labs made me nervous...the fire, SHARP scalpels, chemicals.....

Eeek, I'm such a girl scout (literally.  I WAS a girl scout for a long long time).

I saw dangers EVERYWHERE in the classroom.

I think this topic shut me down when I thought of science class.

hahahaha

So I stopped thinking of class and

 tried "great idea"...

"never give up"...

but the cards didn't make me happy. ;(

My youngest is a natural in science, and will probably become something amazing in that field.

I really really wanted to give this a go despite my awkwardness.

This firecracker card is my favorite of the gang. ;)

Many moons ago someone found a way to invent  "fun" fiery entertainment that many can enjoy.

That's the beauty of science ....

something fun or more importantly, lifesaving is discovered despite the dangers of experimenting.

I did my signature "coloring"....dotty dotting for this fun challenge...

Grey/Gray Pair of Cards but Still Smiling ;)

(stamp: Create with TLC digital freebie image  die: Spellbinders  Coloring Medium: Copics)

I did a bit of ombre "coloring" for a couple of challenges....

http://virginiasviewchallenge.blogspot.com/2015/10/virginias-view-challenge-19.html

I dotty-dotted with Copics to get the ombre effect on my die cut digital.

To show you I really meant it in my quest for sets....

here is another using the scraps of the same paper...

(die: My Favorite Things Die-namic Blueprints 11)

I'm entering it in another challenge I've stumbled upon

This week the focus is  an "Inspired by Words" Challenge...

"Autumn...the year's last, loveliest smile" by American Poet William Callum Bryant.

I LOVE this idea of being inspired by words...

I was an English major many many moons ago...so I think this is the coolest idea for a challenge!

I obviously took the word smile to feature here.

I come from an island FULL OF SMILES...Hawaii ;)...so smiling comes naturally to me. ;)

Hawaii is not only full of Hawaiian Aloha...but Asian culture too.

I have a bit of Japanese in me (along with a bunch of other nationalities).

A smile can mean different things to different people.

I found this interesting article ...

Sometimes I think I smile when perhaps I shouldn't...

I'm working on that guys.

I didn't realize it was a "thing" that differed among cultures until we lived out of the US.

At first I thought people were angry at us...but then I took it less personal the longer I lived in that country.

The more I learn...the more I realize I need to learn...

always trying to grow here guys....
