A Doily at the Cafe

Our Daily Bread Designs' Stamping in Time 40 challenges you to use a doily!

I don't have those hanging around, unfortunately.

But, I DO have an embroidery machine that's been neglected for awhile.

It made me a doily. ;)

It's called FSL (free standing lace).  The machine sews it on water soluble stabilizer with whatever thread you choose.

The verse is from ODBD You Will Find Refuge.

I chose the pink to go with this week's Play Date Cafe Challenge PDCC93

Aren't these colors and inspirational photo gorgeous?

Thank you for stopping in today. ;)

Christmas Q Window

Leftovers from my attempts at two challenges led me to this card.

Thank you, MIM Decreasing Apertures #26
for teaching me to make this window.

I used turqoise glitter ( that couldn't show anything through), so the botched card was used for this project instead.

Thank you Moxie Fab...my previous attempts left me a lovely "quilt" square to use for this card.

I simply wound some inexpensive embroidery floss through the smaller Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Pendant.

Thank you, ColourQ...I LOVE the color combo this week! ;)

I love when mistakes can be used after all, don't you?

Grunge Wreath and a Peppermint

Today I created a grunge wreath, using Papertrey's Grunge Me circles.

This is my second MIM Decreasing Apertures #26 card.

I used some glitter in the window, like Jennifer Ellefson shows, and used fixative to keep it on the card.

The inside showcases a "peppermint" made from twine glued on a chipboard.
I really like pink and green for Christmas...I don't know what that's about.

Guess I'm wanting a whimsical Christmas this year. ;)

Thanks for peeking in today. ;)

MIM #26 Decreasing Apertures

A new Make it Monday is up!

Watch the video to understand the challenge.

"Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and features the decreasing apertures technique."

What's an aperture?

Watch the video.

Plus, you'll feel so good about learning a new vocab word...

AND you'll impress those around you. ;)

They'll definitely grasp the significance of this hobby of yours...and the intelligence needed to create a card.

We're not just talking coloring, babe...we're talking APERTURES.

That's right,

APERTURES.

I was delighted when his eyebrows raised and eyes revealed that "I'm impressed" glint.

Marlena was using big words today.

Not Momma words...

BIG words.

Ok, here is my....ahem, APERTURE card. ;)

Day of healing, my friends, day of healing.

My SECOND card in a row for my friend to send her deployed husband.

Like I said,  I couldn't participate in anything to do with deployed soldiers without crying my eyes out.

Sometimes things are so deep

they take some time to heal.

Here and Here are where I cut out a bit of my heart for y'all, because the Lord laid on my heart that you needed to hear it.

I'm not saying it again.

Thanks for peeking in and enabling me in this great bloggy world. ;)

Missing You in So Many Ways

I must be healing.

I was able to make a card for my friend to send her deployed husband...

without crying my eyes out.

Thank You Jesus!

It's really a blessing, when I don't get emotional about deployed soldiers...

so much so that I CAN'T DO ANYTHING for them.

It's about time I made cards for my friends!

I stamped the background with my largest clear acrylic block.

That's right, no stamp, just the block.  One spritz of water after inking up, and you have a handmade background.

Thanks for peeking in today. ;)
