Electric Company, Sesame Street, Mister Rogers....

Television that had grown-ups and children having fun together.

Washed out colors.

~Second LIM:Masking~

This week's Less Is More Challenge is a sketch!

This is my second entry.

I've seen so many beautiful submissions that entailed masking borders.

I figured this was the challenge to give it a go! ;)

(Basic Grey Tranquil,Technique Tuesday Growing Wild,Tim Holtz Distress Inks marmalade and pine, stipple brush,Creative Memories corner rounder,Copic marker for pollen,American Crafts AC cardstock)

I masked the border with post-it notes and laid some quilling strips down in a zigzag.

A stipple brush was used to apply two distress inks that were chosen for

Once again...a gorgeous photo! I can't get it out of my head.

The greens, oranges and yellow HAD to make it onto my card.

There is no greater artist than God!

Thanks for stopping by...especially if it was more than once today! ;)

I really do appreciate it.

~LIM and OLW~

~Another CAS-ual and the Cafe~

I'm on a quilling streak, it seems. ;)

How many times before I can say "I quill"?
I am truly enjoying my gift.

 (supplies: Sticker,Piggy Tales DP,American Crafts AC cardstock,Fiskar's border punch,Marvy circle punch,quill paper)

I just noticed quarter lines in the belly of my Marvy punch.

It helped me determine a quarter of the circle to create notches in my sentiment panel.

I think these look way better than if I had just eyeballed it.

Here is the sketch again, by Laura at

My colors were inspired by

I was so excited to find this sentiment sticker that looked pretty close to the colors...it motivated me to finish this card! ;)

Thanks for stopping by today! ;)

~Shaker Box Filled With Quills~

Amanda read all your sweet birthday wishes...thank you so much bloggy friends!!!
Ya'll are the BEST! ;)

This past Sunday I was blessed with a bag of goodies from a sweet lady at church.

It had bags of quilling strips and a quilling TOOL!!!

I've toyed a bit with quilling...well, baby quilling.

But now, I'm legit!

I have a TOOL!!!

She said she wanted to give it to someone who would use it.

Oh YES...I WILL, I WILL!!! ;)

First thing to do is make a thank you card, of course!

The shaker card technique I learned by watching Heather's tutorial at

I ended up using three layers of foam (quilled paper is a bit thicker than glitter).

My colors were drawn by Color Throwdown #176

~Papertrey Jan. Blog Hop/Happy Birthday Amanda!~

Nichole Heady is encouraging us to look back at a favorite project from last year.

I want to share what I made for my daughter, Amanda...

HER BIRTHDAY IS TODAY! ;)

I made her this card back in December, and I needed decor for today.

(Papertrey Ink In the Meadow sentiment,Technique Tuesday Inner circle for mouth and eyes,Zig pen brown for drawing in the line,Ranger Tim Holtz spiced marmalade ink,Papertrey ink premium dye in true black,MS fringe scissors,My Mind's Eye DP Ooh La La DP,AC cardstock neutral pack, felt,Spellbinders classic circles,Sizzix die for the mouth)

Here is the banner I created, based on the card.

Recognize Papertrey Ink's Shape-Up Series Snowman Die?

Don't put it away yet!

My baby girl

TURNED 11!

sniff.

She is the coolest kid.

Eleven tops I want to share about my Amanda:

1.She is hilarious.  That kid will make you roll on the floor, holding your sides-because you don't want to split in two!
2.She has her own sense of SHAZAMMMM style:neon green and anything to compliment her love of green.
3.She is gifted and creative~that girl will come up with the MOST creative drawings and imaginative musings you've ever seen.
4.Determined:If you tell Amanda something is too hard for just anyone to do...she will make it her MISSION to accomplish the task.
5.Brave.She has a lion's heart. I have no doubt that child will save my life one day.
6.A sweetie pie: Amanda has a sensitive side that recognizes when someone (I) need a hug.
7.Quirky:in a really cool, "IT'S TRENDY" sort of way. She loves sock monkeys. She liked them way before they were cool and everywhere.
8.Athletic:Oh, you should've seen that kid on the soccer field. I can't believe I gave birth to a child that could run and score so naturally.
9.Beautiful. She has her Dad's gorgeous hazel eyes and lovely wavy hair that stems from her 1/2 Portuguese grandpa. Love her curls and eyes.
10.SO MUCH FUN. The party doesn't start until Amanda arrives. ;)
11. She's my baby. God gave her to me as the best birthday gift ever, 4 days before my 31st birthday. That child has given me so much joy and laughter. I am so blessed to be her mother. ;)

Thank you for stopping by and reading a mother's proud list. ;)

~Flashback Friday CAS~

For my first Flashback Friday Challenge, I

want to share my first CAS card on Flashback Friday 19.0:

First Clean and Simple card.

 April 30,2011

I posted a trio that day:

It was perfect to hand out to my girls' dance teachers!

I was so proud to ink up three cards and marry two stamp companies. ;)

Thanks for stopping in today.

~Man Card~

led me to this card:

(supplies:Papertrey Ink In the Meadow deer,I Heart Papers Mint Motif Beyond Borders,Papertrey Ink Game On sentiment,Staz On pumpkin,Ranger Distress ink pine needle and marmalade,Georgia Pacific 110 lb cardbase)

Now, originally my zigs were zagged so straight and true, but I smudged my fingers on the pristine white.

I figured...perfection isn't me.

I embraced the cool, stomped/ripped,nothing fits look that seems to be in now.

I didn't intend for reindeer's behind to look so textured, but I really did like it after the fact.

Here is the straight and true for those that are curious:

See? It's a bit warped on the bottom, because I viciously took a baby wipe to my Oompa-Loompa finger smudges created at the last second....arrrgh.

My orange and green combo is inspired by For Your Inspiration Challenge #22

What a gorgeous photo!  I have something prettier in the works, but I wanted to make sure and credit this challenge, because it DID choose my colors for this masculine card.

Thank you for stopping by today, it makes my day! ;)

ME

UP! ;)

It never ceases to amaze me how one teeny weeny, sweet baby can rule a roost, I tell ya!

They have no idea how much power they hold. ;)

I pulled patterned paper out for

I followed the layout from

The blues and yellows were what I focused on when using this photo for inspiration.

~A Number~

I've never participated in Our Craft Lounge's Challenge before and they have hit their 100th!

Great time to jump in, don't you think? ;)

I used a NUMBER-#2 in my card(to meet the numbers category).

Well, actually, the number was IN the sentiment.

It still works, right?

Also, I used a technique from Nichole's Make It Monday #49 Ghost Masking...very very cool.

Check out the video from Betsy Veldman
 to learn the deets.

Here's my creation:
(Stamps: Papertrey Ink Game On,PTI All Booked UP;Ink:Memento:london fog,sweet plum,bamboo leaves,rich cocoa;Die:Marvy Punch;Paper:Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses DP,Georgia Pacific white,American Crafts AC cardstock,DCWV natural stack,Vellum for masking;Other:Martha Stewart Fringe scissors,stapler)
The front is shorter than the back...I have the back piece fringed.
My Marvy punch was a wee bit too big for the circle...but I moved it accordingly (when I stamped)to get it as close to the line as possible.
My colors were pulled from The PlayDate Cafe PDCC115.

Thank you for stopping by today. ;)

~Family:New Everyday~

I wanted to participate in My Mind's Eye Blog Challenge 31:Card.

Everyday is new, right? ;)

(My Mind's Eye Stamps Hazel "Memories",My Mind's Eye Ooh La La For Him DP and Die Cuts,Memento ink rich cocoa,Spellbinders scalloped circles, dollar store ribbon)

Here's the sketch:

I busted out the neglected sewing/embroidery machine for this one...hence the fancy stitching.

I shall do it more often! ;)

Have a blessed day.

~Fly All the Way Home~

Sometimes I glide too low...

as if tethered to a string.

The weight of the world dragging me

far down-it's hard to sing.

Look up and remember,

He's freed me; I can roam.

No more descending, even crawling,

I'm flying all the way home.

~Like a Fork and Spoon~

I was excited to see

because it was the perfect challenge to showcase my card.

I used the sketch from the latest submission for Papercrafts...perhaps this was a little too out there. ;)

My girlies love it. ;)

This, believe it or not...is PLASTIC silverware.

I was so excited to discover it, because it looks like the real deal but doesn't weigh a ton.

PERFECT for a wacky card like this!

Hope you get the humor.;)

Supplies: My Mind's Eye Stella Rose Hazel memories,Papertrey Ink Communique Curves Sentiment,October Afternoon DP,American Crafts AC cardstock neutral pack,Marvy punch,Papertrey ink premium dye ink true black

~Old,New,Borrowed,Blue~

I've had this OLD brad for YEARS...it's your standard office brad-perfect for

I used it with this NEW unity stamp, Happiness Is, to create a simple motion card:

(supplies:Unity Happiness Is,Papertrey Ink Premium Dye true black,Georgia Pacific White cardstock,Ranger Tim Holtz Distress ink broken china)

The ribbon was BORROWED from remnants.

My friend said she had this ribbon in her stash a long time.

The BLUE

Ranger Tim Holtz broken china was used to swipe the clouds.

This is a fun, simple card that I surrounded with color instead of coloring.
I can't wait to try this image again for a different look. ;)

~Recipe 2012~

I'm submitting this card that uses

2-inks (grey and black)
0-embellishments
1-Copic marker-yellow
2-stamps:image and sentiment

My marker is running out...but I could still use it.

I love this Authentique DP-it has all the color I need. ;)

I pray you have a wonderful day today.

I love using pink with black! ;)

As I've mentioned before....I LOVE my fringe scissors!

I used them here to draw attention to the awesome verse, Psalm 84:11.

Thanks for stopping in today. ;)

~Ducky Feet~

I pulled up a digital image today for Less Is More Week 50-One Layer Birds.

I created some "ducky feet" by scoring the ends and fringing grass.
