Pink and Purple CASE

Papertrey Ink's Team and Project Favorites

I was inspired by Melissa Phillips' stunning pink and purple tag-it's a winning combo!

I layered a flower with scalloped circles that were inked with elements from Rosie Posie. The center flower was created with multiple fancy circles stamped around the center fancy circle.

I really like these colors married...a bit of gray was added to mimic the silver in her creation.

Yay for another day of stamping fun!!!

Old Timey Love

I want NEW ideas, NEW hopes and dreams, NEW strength and joy.

But, I want OLD timey love forever....

it's the best kind...that stands the test of time.

I was smitten with this old timey cut and used it for my favorite guy in the whole wide world. ;)

I stamped florals from Hydrangea and tiny sentiments from Tiny Flowers and Tags around a Spellbinders die cut for the background.

I was inspired by

Flourishes Love Letters Challenge

to make the MOST IMPORTANT VALENTINE CARD on my list. ;)

and when enabled by challenges. ;)

~Squash Soup~

We love V8 Squash Soup...but can't find it at our local store anymore.

Waaaaaahhhhhh!!!

But, I can make a card INSPIRED by it.

Here's my squash soup card~

It's fun to assemble elements with Erin's chipboard technique here.

I swiped the buggy with Mod Podge for a nice finish.

Here is the soup pic from Inspired By #49

Laurel's source link under the photo will take you to a recipe I will have to try~

I used Lenet's sketch from Waltzingmouse Sketch #123.

The Waltzingmouse stamp I used was the shadow from My Island...isn't that a fun stamp???

My sentiment and die are from Papertrey Ink and the border die is from Verve.

I recently purchased Papertrey's Beautiful Beads die...and thought it would be the perfect platform for the sentiment~

Bet I have you thinking of warm soup now, too, huh?!!!

Misery loves company...LOL.

At least it's a healthy craving~

~Torn Edges and a Simple Embossed Tree~

One lovely embossing folder and the right journaling paper (with numbers up to 25) set the stage for this CAS card.

No sentiment needed...just circle, tear and staple ~adhere the ends if you want.

I've got another for

DYSU Challenge DYSU97

I had the

CASE Study Challenge #116

Angeline Yong

challenge in mind when I put this together.

The muted colors and simple format was perfect for the elements I had on hand.

I am taking advantage of this week's

CAS-ual Fridays CFC 78

It's a fun one~let your inner rebel loose!

If you are hesitant...take that DP that you aren't sure what to do with and tear away~

The Blessing of an Ordinary Day

Appointments, commutes, lessons and the like are what ordinary days are made of.

ORDINARY, AVERAGE DAYS ~ are what make life,

well,

LIFE...

the building blocks of a home, the stairsteps to normal or a new normal.

In the midst of chaos and transition...

an ordinary lifestyle is

EXTRAORDINARY.

I used one of the beautiful sentiments from TT's Ordinary Days.

Brayed Walnut Stain distress ink on an embossing folder pulled up the retro design.

The little images/sentiments from BoBunny's Remind Me Clearly Calendar Set created the "sentiment background" for my card.

I love that they capture "ordinary" activities.

I went with the striking colors from Moxie Fab's

Yesterday smelled like summer & felt like summer~it was so weird!

Today looks like another chance of the same~YES!!!

One last second to

enjoy

the warmth!

This week at

CAS-ual Fridays CFC76,

the goal is to create a clean and simple project using Kraft.

The leaves may be crunchy and losing color...but we can still enjoy them~

CASE Study Challenge #114

I love the texture going on with her card!!!

I have a mini-texture strip on mine-created from a rosette die.

~11 seconds to spare~

tappa tappa tappa tappa tappa tappa tappa....

That's the sound of me desperately inking up a HUMONGOUS background stamp with a Memento Ink Dew Drop when I

dove in today for...

(while mentally placing a larger ink pad in my "virtual mind cart" to order  online later...) ;)

(9 minutes, 49 seconds)

You never heard such desperate tapping!!! LOL

It was my SECOND attempt, mind you....because my first card was CRASH AND BURN.

Note to self:make sure you have enough letter stickers to spell what you want.

Don't wait until the last "y" of Happy Birthday to realize you only have one "y" which was used for "Happy".

eekers.

That's ok, I like this second card better.

Live and learn, right?

There's still some time left to dive in...you got 10 minutes, right?

~10 Minute Craft Dash~

It's time for the 10 Minute Craft Dash #3.

I missed #2 ~ had a week of on/off migraines and I was afraid that my head might explode if I pushed myself into a time crunch.

I love card making...but not in a lethal way.

It really is quite a rush to set a timer and challenge yourself...a fun rush when you're up to it!

This one took 8 minutes/26 seconds without a migraine~

I had the butterfly and funky cloud just laying in my scrap pile feeling all lonely and sad.....

~Carpe Diem~

I created one more card for

CAS-ual Fridays:CFC70
Black and White Plus One (other color)

This lil' guy is such a sweetie, isn't he?

There are glossy accents on the raindrops...I couldn't pick them up here.

The lil' bowtie and cloud are die cut from Sizzix's Kite set ~I trimmed the bowtie just a wee bit to fit the hedgie's body~don't want him to fall over! ;)

I was also inspired by CASE Study Challenge #108:Torico.

She has the cutest monkeys hanging from a negative die cut heart.

I went for the cuteness/action factor and then framed my lil' guy in a Spellbinders Large Label.

Rainy days are the PERFECT days to craft...I'm working on a bit of sunshine inside.

LOVE IT.

Have a blessed day!

~Waltzingmouse Sketch and the Q~

My husband's birthday is coming up.

I ordered this sentiment awhile ago, because it TOUCHED MY HEART when I first read it.

AWWWW, right?

I used two fun borders from Heirloom Patterns.

The colors are from the

Hubby LOVES ORANGE...so I made sure there were lots of orangy pops.

I only had slivers of the green~enough to cut the top and bottom of the tag for a stacked feel.

The wee bittiest bit of pink (my husband already has three girls and a froufrou doggy... gotta take it easy ya know). ;)

The poppy is in the flower and highlight.

Simon Says Stamp and Show:What Do You Say?
is all about the sentiment.

~Paris~

A friend of mine has been on my mind lately.

Once upon a time she and her family went to Paris.

I enjoyed seeing her pictures years ago and listening to her tales.

Right now she's probably doing mundane chores like dishes or washing clothes....

I'd like to remind her of her exciting trip and how God blessed her so!

That was a moment she can personally bank on, you know?

I used the eye-popping colors from Inspired By #32.

Heidi Swapp papers and ruby and gold embossing powders were my go-to supplies here.

Also, this gorgeous sketch : Waltzingmouse Sketch #106

gave me a wonderful starting point!

Have a blessed day~

~Summer Birthday and a Tag~

I salvaged a tag from my daughter's new blouse recently.

This week's Tuesday Trigger's poppies reminded me of the tag's gorgeous swirled flowers and butterfly wings.

Yay for me...a card finished for my sister who has a birthday this month. ;)

I die cut the bottom of the recycled tag with a Sizzix die and attached it to a white tag that was sponged with Tim Holtz Tea Dye distress ink.

I inked up KaiserCraft Numbers for the tag's background and used Hero Arts Untitled Word Shadow for the birthday sentiment.

I offstamped that circle and stamped again for a light look in the background of the card base.

The deckled edge of the card is Versamarked and gold embossed.

Birthdays, flowers, and butterfly wings speak summer to me....lots and lots of birthdays in my family!!!  LOL.

I am a bit more chatty this post than the previous...the heat brought on a migraine and I was afraid I couldn't put coherent sentences together.

I believe it took me countless times to edit this post, though.

I'm feeling much better~I thank God for that!

I pray you are doing ok...if not, let me know how I can pray for you.

Thanks for stopping in...

~To My Pro~

Although I missed the deadline for

Make It Monday #65: Background Patterns From Patterned Paper Scraps,

I was so grateful for the inspiration!

It's a great way to tidy up my desk, and bless someone.

I was able to incorporate my favorite panel, the Perfection patterned paper from Authentique, which would fit in the
Damask and Brocade Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

The other strips have stared back at me for the past few weeks, while scattered across my desk.

I didn't want to hide these striking patterns from myself (out of sight, out of mind).

I'm also plugging this in to Paper Crafts 2012 Gallery Idol.

I figured I'd give it a shot! ;)

This card is for my favorite someone, my husband, who finished up school!

I'm proud of him for many reasons, but today he's my hero, because he earned his degree.

After 22 years of serving in the Army, he went back to school to get his B.S. in Business Administration.

It's the goal he has worked toward for the past three years.

I'M SO PROUD OF YOU BABE!!!

~Matchbook Folder Card~

Make It Monday #65 Background Patterns from Patterned Paper Scraps

inspired me to use my gorgeous strips of DP that litter my desk.

My friend gave me a notepad that looked like a matchbook folder once.

It was on my mind when I designed this card.

 Running out of adhesive?

Bring out your sewing machine!

I sewed on each strip for decor, and then I sewed across the top and bottom for support.

That way, when the front was tucked into the flap, the strips would bend with the card.

It's not going anywhere.

I used a postage stamp diecut (my new favorite shape) for

the Postage Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

This is for my mom's birthday in June- she loves roses!

My colors were pulled from The PlayDate Cafe PDCC131.

Hope you have a great weekend. Take care now.
