~Triumph Over Fear & a Pink Cord~

Cancer touches my family like so many others.

~so does FEAR.

It's a constant battle to just DEAL in the heat of it, right?

This is for my mom, aunt, and sisters in Christ who DEAL with it more than they'd like.

While I had my Teeny Trees out, I made this also.

A simple tree bookmark to throw into an envelope.

I'm less and less afraid of using patterned paper.

Can you tell?

I think having them out, where I can see them, makes them seem like friends. ;)

~Just Be~

What a blessing it is when God gives you a FRIEND.

I ran into my friend yesterday...we haven't seen each other for awhile!

We don't get together often (busy mommies we are), but knowing she cares is enough for me.

She was the first person here that let me JUST BE.

Nothing to prove.

Nothing to earn.

She loved me because God loved me.

That's special, guys.

They don't come by very often.

God gives them when you really need them~a reminder that He loves us.

For my friend....

I picked up this fun, crazy DP months ago.

It spoke to me happy thoughts...but I didn't know what to use it for until this challenge.

WOO HOO number 150!!!!

Congrats ColourQ!

Another inspirational site:

Check out their quote this week...it's a sweet one!

May God send you someone that loves you just because "you are"~especially when you really need it.

Blessings!

Even though they are little, they can be multiplied to create a centerpiece. ;)

I'm so glad that machine is getting some love!

Thanks for stopping by. ;)

~LIM CASual Scraps and a Pun~

Less Is More Week 56:Don't Scrap It!

Aaaah, the perfect opportunity to use this delicious fruit I've had sitting around-waiting to be loved.

(The Craft's Meow Fruity for You,Pearlescent liquid acrylic macaw green,Versmark ink,Whispers black embossing powder,Teresa Collins DP,Georgia Pacific grey,Kid's Jewelry Friendship thread)

I was tickled to receive a gorgeous bottle of Pearlescent green liquid acrylic from a sweet lady at church. (She has generously passed bags of crafty goodness to me the past three Sundays).

I was playing right away and used it to paint over cardstock.

I then stamped and heat embossed the pear and fussy cut it.

Yummy Iridescence!

That pear definitely needed to star somewhere.

The pieces of cardstock here are also scraps.

I love using them, because I get a surprise shape like the orange triangle.

The punny statement is perfect for

CAS-ual Friday CFC 41

Have a great weekend~ ;)

They have no idea how much power they hold. ;)

I pulled patterned paper out for

I followed the layout from

The Craft's Meow Jan.-Feb. Card Sketch

The blues and yellows were what I focused on when using this photo for inspiration.

~Red Letter Bread Clips~

This caught my eye at Pinterest.

I went through my stash of bread clips and this is what I made.

(Our Daily Bread Designs Scripture Collection 6,October Afternoon DP,hole punch,Brilliance red ink,Joann's clear embossing powder,Piggy Tales DP,Sizzix flower,Kid's Jewelry friendship thread,Fiskar's rotary cutter scalloped blade,Creative Memories corner rounder,)

I hope the recipient will remove the clip and put it where she needs reminding.

Hope is needed by everyone, I think.

Simon Says Stamp and Show a Red Letter Day
made me think of my Red Letter Bible and the words of Jesus.

He brings me Hope. ;)

I drew my colors from Inspired By #6

CAS-ual Fridays #35
encouraged me to use my scalloped blade in my rotary cutter for the tag.

My hope is that you are encouraged today. ;)

~An Interesting Chipboard Piece~

I've got all sorts of fun chipboard pieces that I've had for a few years.

To be perfectly honest, when I bought them, I really just wanted the bag that the goodies came in.

I wasn't into scrapbooking or cardmaking then, and I figured my daughter could "play" with those things. ;)

So glad I held on to them!

I shifted through my goods for CAS-ual Fridays CFC34
and made this.

I found this shape interesting...such a long neck!

Perfect to lasso. ;)

~Masculine Lighthouse Card~

I'm glad I had time to create today!

I used my Spellbinders classic circles to cut a circle in the middle of this image that was stamped and embossed.

I then created a frame with two circles and dabbed it in Versamark ink and embossed.

I'm always blessed when I finish a card.

There are so many "parts" laying around from "almost cards", ya know?

I sometimes work on a few at a time, so that when one hits a DEADEND...I can hop to the next.

This one followed a beautiful sketch from

CardPatterns 146

I am also entering this in

Our Daily Bread Designs SNTODBD50 Anything Goes.

This image is one of my favorites...it's perfect for a masculine card.

~Message from Afar~

There's a cool technique over at Flourishes Timeless Tuesday #149.

It's called a telescoping image card.

I really enjoyed this technique, even though I had to stamp more than once.

I'm used to that now. ;)

I didn't know that, you know.

It took me years to feel "successful" at stamping, because I didn't know you needed:

1) Quality inks
2) Quality stamps
3) Practice
Whenever I stamped, I was bummed because it looked TERRIBLE.

However, I kept buying stamps here and there...hoping it would "click" one day.

I'm so glad that there are awesome blogs out there that give advice and info for all levels.

Aren't you?

What a blessing! ;)

Thank you for stopping in today.  Hope you have a little time to craft. ;)

~Another Moxie~

I incorporated green in with the tag.

~Make It Monday Glitter Masking~

I managed to create with glitter today!

Yayyyyyy!

It usually isn't my friend, but I am pleased with how this came out for
Make It Monday's Glitter Masking that Jenn came up with.

If I can, you can too!!!

I took a strip of double adhesive (after destroying the rest of it...LOL),
and masked the lil' snowpeople.

It REALLY does help to use tweezers, by the way.

Now let's see you try.

C'mon, no one is more afraid of glitter than me. ;)

Thanks for stopping by. ;)

~Gone, But Not Forgotten~

I've never participated in Wee Memories before...

but I figured I'd give it a shot. ;)

The challenge is Wee Memories Challenge #77:Woodland Animals

I had the woodland animals to stamp with and camouflage coloring I mimicked.

I folded back the panel to reveal sentiments that go without saying...but they are always on the mind of those who are dealing with deployments.

Thank you for stopping in today...have a blessed Thanksgiving! ;)

~Embellish Challenge With Leaves~

I created a card today that was difficult to take a photo of (I'm sure you've had those!).

But, I did my best....

I used my Perfect Pearls Pigments with Versamark ink.
I love the shimmer.

 I love this sentiment!

Regardless of the poor photos, I DID enjoy the process. ;)

~FYI, a Pattern and Bandaid Bling~

 I'm enjoying my Bandaid Bling.

It's too pretty to put on blood, that's for sure! ;)

Would you have known that was a bandaid if I didn't tell you?

I bought TWO boxes of Bandaid Bling, since pondering  about
Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger Beads & Baubles.

Not everyone can afford jewels. ;)

Plus, it's easier to mail flat.

I'm hooked on black, yellow, gray since studying this striking photo for FYI Challenge 17.

CardPatterns Sketch 140

gave me a structure to follow,

(especially when I saw a home for bandaid bling)!

What will I put on a card next????

Don't worry, I WILL stop at something BREATHING

-that would be gross

and cruel.

I don't do cruel.

~True Happiness~

True Happiness

When my husband was close to his military retirement a few years ago, the mailman asked him,

"Are you retired?"

My husband answered the best he could at the time, "Well, sort of."

To which the mailman replied with a thick, southern drawl,

"Either ya are, or ya aren't".

We still use that phrase around the house. ;)

True Happiness.

Either ya have it, or ya don't.

Not a challenge...just a thought. ;)

I'm not sure what I will write in this card or to whom I will send it.

The sentiment just seemed to fit the card. ;)

Have a blessed day and thanks for stopping by.

~A Watercolor Thank You~

Papertrey's Make it Monday #36 is Faux Watercoloring.

Lisa Johnson shares a video tutorial to teach you this technique.

It is a beautiful, subtle effect that I used for this thank you card.

My favorite element from Grunge Me was arranged as a flower and lightly smeared with a damp brush.

I laced that layer up with some braiding cord.

The only ink I own which reacted with water was the ColorBox pigment.

Try it with all your inks and see which works the best.

Thanks for stopping in today. ;)
