Mixed Media-ish

I love the freestyle look of mixed media and journaling...but I'm not ready to bring out the paints and get messy.

I can still get the look by grunging with a background like the mesh from Market Street stamps.

I laid down misc paper scraps and stamped over them.

I did the same technique here, but with border stamps.

You still get a "template" look, but without the template and paints.

I criss-crossed with pink and purple backgrounds for the color challenge at

Create Cards Blog Challenge:March 2013.

CASE Study Challenge #132
Julie Ebersole

Her beautiful card reminded me of how much I love SPLATTERS!

Dabbing from Copic and Memento pens can look like splattered paint.

I was determined to participate~if only to have a great reason to splatter~or rather, DAB! ;)

I also used the negative image for

Emphasize the Negative Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

Have a great day~thanks for stopping by to see me friends!

Rosie Posie and a Gradient Look

It took me a few tries to achieve this gradient look with two powders (pink and lime).

The only downside was, I couldn't pour the extra powder back in the containers...I didn't want to contaminate the pure colors.

I designated a "mixed" container for times like these...it will be interesting to see what color combo results after a few months.

These two stems are from Papertrey's Rosie Posie~they are easy to line up and fun to work with.

I brought out my beads and sequins and scattered them about with Glossy Accents glue.

is hosted by Heather.

After getting my image the way I wanted it, I took the plunge and embossed the sentiment in yellow over it.

I must admit~I was a bit nervous about overheating it.

I love the outcome though!

This is a great way to use up that gorgeous embossing powder.

Thanks for stopping by~have a blessed day now~

I don't have an anniversary sentiment for Verve's Anniversary Card Challenge,

but I felt this would do.

Plus, it's the truth. ;)

Right?

My husband and I have been married 20 years.

It's not perfect.

But it sure is wonderful!!! ;)

I used silver embossing powder and a "wood grain" dp to fit the challenge.

There is still lots of time left to participate~

Have a great day~

~Timeless Tuesday and Hydrangea~

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday #179
is Christmas in July!

I used my Hydrangea set, and embossed it with silver.

I figured, why not use it for Christmas?

 Retrosketches #22
gave me inspiration for the border placement.

I've been stamping like mad since yesterday with all this energy...it's a blessing when the ball gets rolling and I can tangibly create something that I've mulled over.

Circuits are clicking for now~I'm enjoying the marathon crafting. ;)

~Paris~

A friend of mine has been on my mind lately.

Once upon a time she and her family went to Paris.

I enjoyed seeing her pictures years ago and listening to her tales.

Right now she's probably doing mundane chores like dishes or washing clothes....

I'd like to remind her of her exciting trip and how God blessed her so!

That was a moment she can personally bank on, you know?

I used the eye-popping colors from Inspired By #32.

Heidi Swapp papers and ruby and gold embossing powders were my go-to supplies here.

Also, this gorgeous sketch : Waltzingmouse Sketch #106

gave me a wonderful starting point!

~I Will Sing~

I created a card for ODBDSLC115:Tearing or Distressing.

It's for my friend who has a beautiful voice~

you'll always hear her singing!

I praise God that He has given her a blessed voice to serve Him.

My voice isn't as blessed, LOL, but that's ok...that's why I make cards! ;)

I embossed the verse and the bird (on the background panel) with yellow.

I sponged a bit around the verse to make it visible.

I am also linking up to DYSU #80:Cool Colors.

Thank you for stopping by~it's always a pleasure! ;)

~The Card Dungeon~

I attempted something I haven't done willingly EVER (unless chasing a flight at the airport)....

running!

I went running (if you can call it that, LOL) with my family last night,

~just a bit around the track.

I had to take a breather...most of the time...a little walky walky then run...but,

it was enough to tell the world (and myself)..I'm alive!!!

My middle daughter, Shel, tried to get me to "lift my knees" up more...good gravy. ;)

My youngest, Amanda, wanted to "race me"...awww, how cute is that?

My answer..."NO WAYZZZ" (in my pidgin slang)~"I'm just surviving, hon"
("hon" has stuck with me after being stationed a total of 9 years in TN).

My oldest, Mal,didn't even worry about me....every man for himself...

that girl is SO MUCH like me!!!

Ooops, off track...hee hee hee...as for creating...

my husband praised me for getting out of the "card dungeon". ;)

I did manage to get myself back in there, though, with my ankle bolted to my craft desk...

I inked up my new Teeny Trees that came in...yayyy!

I've been wanting that set ever since I laid eyes on it.

I was so grateful to have my name drawn at a Waltzingmouse Challenge~I didn't hesitate to ask Claire for that set.

Here is the inspiration for the festive silver, gold and neutral.

Thank you for stopping by today, it's always great to have the company~

~Summer Birthday and a Tag~

I salvaged a tag from my daughter's new blouse recently.

This week's Tuesday Trigger's poppies reminded me of the tag's gorgeous swirled flowers and butterfly wings.

Yay for me...a card finished for my sister who has a birthday this month. ;)

I die cut the bottom of the recycled tag with a Sizzix die and attached it to a white tag that was sponged with Tim Holtz Tea Dye distress ink.

I inked up KaiserCraft Numbers for the tag's background and used Hero Arts Untitled Word Shadow for the birthday sentiment.

I offstamped that circle and stamped again for a light look in the background of the card base.

The deckled edge of the card is Versamarked and gold embossed.

Birthdays, flowers, and butterfly wings speak summer to me....lots and lots of birthdays in my family!!!  LOL.

I am a bit more chatty this post than the previous...the heat brought on a migraine and I was afraid I couldn't put coherent sentences together.

I believe it took me countless times to edit this post, though.

I'm feeling much better~I thank God for that!

I pray you are doing ok...if not, let me know how I can pray for you.

Thanks for stopping in...

~Runway~

Martha Stewart's Caning punch comes in handy when you want to punch wherever.

Hence the name "All over the page" punch. ;)

(Dear Lizzy+American Crafts Warble sentiment,Martha Stewart Caning Pattern Punch All over the Page,BoBunny Country Garden DP,American Crafts cardstock,American crafts ribbon,Vellum,Sizzix texture plate,Versamark ink,Whispers copper embossing powder)

We had SNOW yesterday, people....so I'm pretty obsessed with sunshine today. ;)

I didn't want ANYTHING to block those windows I created.

ANYTHING.

I have grown to love orange (it's my husband's favorite color).

I used a gray ribbon to represent the "waist" on this dress, and as for gold...

check out the shine on the embossing (and gold thread).

YES! SUNSHINE! We will take it!!!

Have a great day...happy crafting. ;)

~Miss You Petals~

"--Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and must include a die-cut flower made with a non-flower die."

Using my Papertrey Ink Mat Stack 3 Die, I made a humongous flower for my card.

After cutting out the petals with my die, I ran each one through the crimper to soften them.

I bent the edges in and sewed each down except the one that is lifted.

My colors were inspired by The Play Date Cafe PDCC127.

Hope you're having a fantastic week so far!

New Life. New Me

Our Daily Bread Designs SLC103

This week's challenge:
Since spring is now here and signs of new life are happening all around us we want to see creations symbolizing new life…this can be Easter, new baby, budding trees, flowers…..etc.

 The Sweet Stop SSS153

This sketch.

I love to share about my new life.
Since Jesus became my Lord in the spring of 1999, my world changed.

There's still black and white,

good and evil,

happiness and sorrow.

 HOWEVER,

see the rainbow path?

Jesus fills my heart and my future with purpose, meaning and direction.

The beautiful color He paints in my little world has given me hope.

Because I know Him and I KNOW He knows Me and loves me...

I can live!

I used to worry about the legacy I would leave my girlies (back when I only had 2 and they were wittle, wittle).

Was what I offered enough?

Would they have enough joy?

Enough wisdom?

Enough knowledge?

Enough LOVE?

After Jesus saved me...

I no longer worried.

He is more than enough for me to share with them...

and you.

His sacrifice on the cross is everything.
Because of His death on the cross,

and my acceptance of His awesome gift...
I LIVE!
I'm free.
There is color in my world.
Every day IS a new beginning.
May you have a blessed Easter.

~The Lord is With Me Masculine Card~

I love when I can gather some great scraps on my desk and complete a card.

This card came together easily with the perfect challenges to motivate me!

*Our Daily Bread Designs Not Forgotten~Versamark ink~Whispers black embossing powder~Ranger Tim Holtz Distress inks (mustard seed and dusty concord)~Papertrey Ink In the Meadow dies~Spellbinders classic circles~Bazzill basics cardstock~Authentique Blissful pack strip~DCWV natural stack strip~Piggy Tales DP strip~Papertrey Ink Grunge Me stamped on deer~Georgia Pacific white cardstock~

The following challenges helped me along:

I had these yellow deer laying around from my Grunge Deer card.

I decided to stack them up like these striking animals.

I added the ruler strip to mimic the one in the photo.

I also want to submit this card to

 ODBDSLC102 Favorite ODBD Stamp Set.

My favorite masculine ODBD set is Not Forgotten.

The verses are STRONG and they are presented as such.

Have a beautiful day, thanks for stopping by! ;)

~TCM Sketch in Blue~

I received my adorable set, Tweet of You, in record time,

and was able to make an engagement card for a sweet couple.

Have you ever had your card sort of HAPPEN?

I couldn't put my finger on what was different about this card from any other card I usually do.

Then it hit me...

the bow!

Decent bow for a non-bowmaker like myself.

However, I do feel as though someone else slapped that baby on without my knowledge.

I love it, it's just not my usual style.

The Craft's Meow March Sketch

I took the three elements and shifted it to the other side with flowers.

Cure for the Winter Blues Challenge in the Moxie Fab World

~LIM CASual Scraps and a Pun~

Aaaah, the perfect opportunity to use this delicious fruit I've had sitting around-waiting to be loved.

(The Craft's Meow Fruity for You,Pearlescent liquid acrylic macaw green,Versmark ink,Whispers black embossing powder,Teresa Collins DP,Georgia Pacific grey,Kid's Jewelry Friendship thread)

I was tickled to receive a gorgeous bottle of Pearlescent green liquid acrylic from a sweet lady at church. (She has generously passed bags of crafty goodness to me the past three Sundays).

I was playing right away and used it to paint over cardstock.

I then stamped and heat embossed the pear and fussy cut it.

Yummy Iridescence!

That pear definitely needed to star somewhere.

The pieces of cardstock here are also scraps.

I love using them, because I get a surprise shape like the orange triangle.

The punny statement is perfect for

CAS-ual Friday CFC 41

Have a great weekend~ ;)

The paper flower just seemed right . ;)

Have a great evening, wherever you may be.
