Let Us Adore Him

Papertrey's challenge this week,

Make It Monday #92 Layered Vellum Die Cuts
hosted by Melissa

will take your card to a new 3D level.

Bring on the bright DP and layer it with vellum for a muted effect.

I love the inner belly goodness I was able to throw in between the vellum and DP layer-glitter and snowflakes.

I used the

My colors are from

I couldn't do it....I could not bring myself to face the shopping madness.

~Bring Your Own Thankful~

Make It Monday #90:
Creating Focal Point Sentiments With Stamps and Dies

Betsy's technique added mileage to my sentiment dies.

We are challenged this week to match sentiment stamps and dies together-which inspired me to look beyond the stamp set the dies were intended for.

I taped over the last line of this sentiment from PTI's Hello Sunshine and married it with the sentiment from PTI's Counting My Blessings Die set.

I love the nightfall colors of the

I just had to participate there!!!

~Life Changes~

Sweet 'n Sassy Virtual Stamp Day

inspired me to put the teeniest, tiniest tag here...

I LOVE the bright colors of this week's throwdown.

I'm not always into embracing life's changes...are you?

However, WITH us or WITHOUT us accepting them~ they happen.

Can you imagine some things

 NOT CHANGING?

Ummm, that could be depressing or even boring.

What would there be to look forward to~

~A Kindred Spirit~

I have a friend who accompanied me (along with our children) to the city so I could get the ingredients for mochi.

Have you had it?

It's a sweet, gooey dessert that my family loves.

I grew up in Hawaii, where you can pick up a container at the local drugstore (but it might have a black bean paste in the middle).

Since I'm no longer in Hawaii, I have to make my own(without the black bean).

I probably wouldn't have found the asian store without her.

She is such a sweet friend, and I was thinking of her today.

~Word Art Wednesday Challenge #46 is about friends this week~

I started with a fantastic sketch here, at Splitcoaststampers.
(SC403).

inspired me to create a dancing cityscape...

I used the colors at the Color Throwdown #210.

This week, CASE Study Challenge #104,  we are to case one of the design team members.

I CASEd Clare's 4th Card Here.

One thing I love about Clare's work, is when she puts some surprise texture in her cards.

I love that!

I didn't add a paper ruffle, but I used soft colors and kept the strings for an unexpected "something" tucked behind the sentiment panel.

I also added crimping to 1/3 of the label.

My colors are inspired by

If you've ever wondered what your design would look like CAS vs Layered,

now's the time to test your curiosity!

~Rejoice!~

I played with my Beyond Borders stamps and worked my way up the card.

*I Heart Papers Mint Motif Beyond Borders,Flourishes He is Risen, Memento ink rich cocoa,Staz-On pumpkin and red,Piggy Tales DP,Scor-Tape 1/2",Georgia Pacific white cardbase*

Doesn't it look like a dress?

Hence this is my first submission to Runway Inspired.

 Challenge #7

The backdrop of blue really pops the red.

My "belt" serves the same purpose.

See my modern "bow"?

I took the remaining piece of my strip of blue and folded it over and over and bent it to pop up.

I chose my colors for Color Throwdown 182.

I love these colors together!

Finally, I was welcomed to

"We'd love for you to use it to play along with us, but if you are working on another project that has scripture or an encouraging quote, you can share that too."

I feel the awesome sentiment is the bodice...right where my heart is!

REJOICE!

her praises still ring through all eternity!

Amen?

Amen!!

It adds so much movement to a project.

I love dimension and movement in my projects! ;)

~Shaker Box Filled With Quills~

Amanda read all your sweet birthday wishes...thank you so much bloggy friends!!!
Ya'll are the BEST! ;)

This past Sunday I was blessed with a bag of goodies from a sweet lady at church.

It had bags of quilling strips and a quilling TOOL!!!

I've toyed a bit with quilling...well, baby quilling.

But now, I'm legit!

I have a TOOL!!!

She said she wanted to give it to someone who would use it.

Oh YES...I WILL, I WILL!!! ;)

First thing to do is make a thank you card, of course!

The shaker card technique I learned by watching Heather's tutorial at

Make It Monday #50.

I ended up using three layers of foam (quilled paper is a bit thicker than glitter).

My colors were drawn by Color Throwdown #176

~Throwdown Colors and A Sled~

Boy oh boy, is this boy having fun! ;)

I needed a quick card and this did it for me. ;)

The silhouette is multicolored, because I die cut him out of an instant Cider box.

Aren't these colors AWESOME???

I think they coordinate well with Color Throwdown #171
don't you?

Stoooooory tiiiiiiime....

The first time I ever went sledding, I was a young woman.

Since I was born and raised in Hawaii...I DIDN'T HAVE A CLUE how to sled.

I thought you just hopped on, held on and laughed the whole way down.

That's how they do it in the movies!!!

Apparently it takes some form of skill.

My husband (fiancee at the time) and I doubled up for a "trial run" back in '89.

Boy was that fun!

I screamed, I laughed, I had a BLAST.

There was a sharp turn at the end of a huge hill, which seemed so easy when HE did the steering-and frankly, I barely remember it.

I believe it was important.

I DO remember him being all serious when he asked, "Are you ready to do this ALONE?"

"SURE!" I enthusiastically shouted, "Why NOT!!!?".

Long story short....I didn't LEAN IN heavy enough when I went solo.

He still pokes fun at me TO THIS DAY....mimicking my quivering voice that drifted from the bottom of the hill.

 "D-a-a-n"

"D-a-a-a-an"

"Daaa----aaaaaan"

Story goes he had to EXTRACT me from deep within a thorny bush...

  place me on a sled

and drag me back to his parents' house.

I pouted the whole way home.

whatever
