Woodblock Wednesday Encouragement

I'm finally getting a Woodblock Wednesday card done in time!

I always have good intentions, but this time it panned out. ;)

"Gathering Basket" River City Rubber Works, 4121-J River city Rubber Works, Inkadinkado Galeris Vernissage Leaf, Kuretake Watercolors

This beautiful basket stamp was acquired recently (how could I resist the shading and shape?!) .

The leaves were a happy accident, in that I didn't think of the fussy cut, watercolored leaves, to dry curled up like a real leaf would.

When they were dry, and I gathered them up, they sounded much the same as raked leaves!

As for the beautiful sentiment,
I had originally bought this(many years ago).

I felt a prompting in my Spirit, to use it to create a card for my friend fighting cancer at the time.

I haven't seen her IN YEARS (since we moved to different churches and had many life changes), but God allowed me to run into her months ago.

She said this sentiment is one she shares with EVERYONE still (though she isn't sick now).

She literally quotes it so often, and when she does, she thinks of me.

I had to dig it back up and put it to use again; it had such a powerful impact (and I had stashed it away with all my lovely woodblock stamps).

Thank you for your sweet visit~

You Don't Look a Day Over Fabulous

Oh how my daughter loves bookstores and all things books. ;)

For her birthday, I created this 3D card,  using mostly Concord & 9th Shoppe sets.

The embossed sentiment at the top is from The Ton Stamps.

Concord & 9th Pop-Up Shoppe Base, Book Shoppe stamps and dies, Window Shoppe dies, The Ton Stamps Peony Memories sentiment embossed with gold powder

I also took the time to add EZ Lights from Pear Blossom Press.

EZ-Light 5 Pack from Pear Blossom Press

I lined up the ceiling lights and punched holes for the lights to peek through.

Ah! So much fun!!!

Here's the inside, stamped with a set from Stamp Simply.

If you look closely, you'll see I added more The Ton Stamps (Peony Memories) sentiments on some book spines.

Happy New Year Plant Card

The Ton Stamps Easy Expressions Holiday, Sizzix Hanging Planter Plants, My Favorite Things Wonky Peek a Boo Stitched Window, Simple Stories Life Captured Cardstock pad

I read somewhere that in the past few years (especially during quarantine), plants have gained more favor.

This plant paper is from Simple Stories Life Captured.

As for the sentiment, I tend to send out holiday cards closer to the new year ;).

I know myself, and this one will head out after Christmas.

Beautiful photo inspiration at Just Add Ink

Thank you for your sweet visit!

Prayers for Seasons of Change

Sweet 'n Sassy Season of Change and leaf dies (older retired set), Papertrey Ink Winter Woods (birch limb used for stripes), My Favorite Things Torn Paper Edges border dies

I needed a sympathy card, unfortunately (these always stump me).

I love the colors from the recent Color Throwdown Challenge, so I took a step in that direction with some beautiful leaves from a set I've had for awhile.

The stripes are actually birch images from another set I've had for awhile.

I just needed to get it done, so I don't dwell on how sad I feel for this family.

Sometimes, you just have to keep it simple and do it.

It's not that I didn't like the card I made, I just didn't like the reason I needed to make it, you know?

Thanks for stopping by today!

DT INkspirational Clean & Simple (Inspired by a Movie)

Erin Lee Creative Queen Stencil/Yasss Queen Stamp set, Hero Arts MMH 2019 Kit red glimmer pot

It's time for a new challenge at INkspirational!

This time we have a Clean & Simple prompt with an optional twist- Inspired by a Movie.

Have you had a chance to see the movie Woman King?!

It's super inspiring.

The Queen stencil from Erin Lee Creative packs a punch, and it pairs well with this Hero Arts Glimmer paste I've had since 2019.

2023 Card Design Superstar: Box Card Master

I have had THE MOST fun creating this little scene.

My eldest daughter gasped when I showed her the beginnings of it, and her jaw dropped.

"I want one!!!" my 27 year old exclaimed. ;)

So here we are, I got it done!

I even lit her up with Pear Blossom Press EZ-Lights (also available at My Favorite Things store).

The temporary yellow clothespin kept it lit for this shot

(and if my daughter wants to keep it on after she releases her fingers).

EZ-Light 5 Pack from Pear Blossom,  & My Favorite Things Supplies: Outside The Box Level Up Die-namics , The View From My Office Die-namics (window), Around the Water Cooler Shelves Die-namics (shelves & clock), Massage Envy Die-namics (plant & pot), At My Desk Die-namics (desk, chair, mug), Fundamental Furnishings Die-namics (lamp), Serenity Now Die-namics (smaller plants), Breakroom Buddies sentiment

Here it shows that it folds flat for mailing:

Here it is unlit (she hasn't even seen that I added lights yet).

If she thought it was amazing unlit, she's gonna freak out!!!

I pulled fun details from a variety of Die-namics, listed under the first pic.

I love that these scenic dies are scaled to the same size (office, living room and spa), and can be mixed and matched to build any scene you desire.

I also wanted to show how I used a hole punch to thread the wires through to the back (I took a quick pic before adding the finishing touches).

There's a cover panel adhered with foam tape to finish the back.

A quick youtube search will take you to instructions on how to assemble and adhere your lights.

Try it and you'll want to do more!

Thanks to My Favorite Things for their fun challenge:

Clean & Simple My Favorite Things 2023 Card Design Superstar

I created a clean & simple design for

My Favorite Things Card Design Superstar challenge.

I took my fave plant and pot pair (Massage Envy) from My Favorite Things, and framed it with a window die (The View from my Office).

All My Favorite Things Supplies: The View From My Office Die-namics (window pane & frame), Massage Envy Die-namics (plant and pot), Breakroom Buddies sentiment, Outside the Box Level Up Die-namics (side panel), Mini Slimline Outside the Box (stitched main panel)

As for the Breakroom Buddies sentiment, it sits on a side panel from Outside the Box Level Up.

I love the unique shape it offers.

Here it is before I attached the pieces on a stitched panel from Mini Slimline Outside the Box:

Pumpkin Spice Thermos

I'm finally putting to use Traditional Tag Topper dies from Sunny Studio.

Picket Fence Studios Fancy Autumn Sentiments, Catherine Pooler Designs Pumpkin Season, Sunny Studio Traditional Tag Toppers, Technique Tuesday Oval and Rectangle Stitched Labels (decorative piece around tag hole), EK Success Fascinater (staple bars), Glitterific (on pumpkin)

Super convenient to take a swatch of paper, and create a long tag where everything can fit.

I wanted to line up my fall images and lovely Picket Fence Fancy Autumn sentiment.

The thermos speaks outdoors and roughing it, like the photo prompt at Time Out(plus the poppin' oranges my husband loves).

I also dusted off my Fastenater stapler and bars (I love the finish).

Thanks for your sweet visit!

Set You Free

Visible Image Stay Wild,  Avery Elle Wonky Stitches, glitter glue, Versamark, Brutus Monroe Raven Embossing Powder

This dynamic image always gets me good.

I wanted to use Glitterific on it, but remembered it was the one color they don't have (Tangerine looks salmon and the next closest is Red).

If you look in the Halloween section of stores during the next few months, you'll see special glitter glue colors.

That's what this was.

I stamped in a rust color and added the glitter glue in the bursting section.

You Have Worked Your Whole Life

I had so much fun with this office set from My Favorite Things ;).

My Favorite Things The Office Kit

A dear lady retiring at my husband's office, is deserving of a card.

I imagine a gazillion desks like these in every city.

Make My Monday #209: In the City

I flipped this sketch (horizontal and vertical wise).

Thank you for your sweet visit today~

Season's Greetings Collage

I enjoy creating transitional season cards.

I take the best of Fall and Winter, and mush them together.

That way, I can marry fun autumn colors with a splash of cool blue.

Maybe seasons aren't super defined for me, since I was mostly raised in Hawaii.

I now experience clearly defined seasons, and love all of them.

Why yes, snowflake, you can hang with the autumn colors and mushroom, no one will stop you.

Picket Fence Studios Fancy Christmas Sentiments, Tim Holtz Impresslits snowflake, Impression Obsession Layered Pinecone, Whimsy Stamps Build a Fairy Garden set, Avery Elle Pierced Rectangles

All these snippets were leftovers from previous craft sittings, and I felt they layered up well.

I pulled rust, mustard and tinge of blue from this photo prompt.

Oh these soldiers from Concord & 9th are SO CUTE.

DT INkspirational Mood Board

It's time for a new challenge at INkspirational!

Erin Lee Creative Bold Holiday Greetings, My Favorite Things Skyline (painted with acrylics and Glitterific paints), Darice Snowflake die, Papertrey Ink Brushed Off Rectangles, Tim Holtz Saltwater Taffy Acrylic Splatters

Check this gorgeous Mood Board :

The pink and oranges got me, and the grey stones.

Know this...if I've bothered to paint a panel or piece, I never trash it.

It's the time it takes to dry, that makes it valuable to me. :)

I had a different project in mind that flopped when I splattered the frame, but after awhile, I found new pieces to add on to it.

The skyline, snowflake and frame are all scraps that met up here.

I just had to stamp a huge sentiment to match the artsy energy of some of the frames in the board.

Please go to the challenge blog and see what my talented teammates came up with, then join us with your unique creation!

Record Shop You Rock

When I saw the cutest record shop sample design at Concord and 9th

(For the Record bundle), I had to try it too.

Concord & 9th Window Shoppe Pop Up Base/Greatest Hits/For the Record,  Brutus Monroe: Rock On sentiments, Reverse Confetti patterned paper

I did the innies too, with a combo of Concord & 9th's Greatest Hits and rounded sentiment from Sugar Pea Designs.

The sentiment on the orange tab is one of my faves from My Favorite Things Anything But Basic Birthday sentiments.

My Favorite Things Anything But Basic Birthday sentiment, Sugar Pea Designs Greatest Hits (no longer available)

Using the fab colors at Just Us Girls, I got it done for a friend of my daughter's.
