~An Interesting Chipboard Piece~

I've got all sorts of fun chipboard pieces that I've had for a few years.

To be perfectly honest, when I bought them, I really just wanted the bag that the goodies came in.

I wasn't into scrapbooking or cardmaking then, and I figured my daughter could "play" with those things. ;)

So glad I held on to them!

I shifted through my goods for CAS-ual Fridays CFC34
and made this.

I found this shape interesting...such a long neck!

Perfect to lasso. ;)

~Luminary Gifts~

I've finally got my gifts done for my fellow ringers!!!

These ladies are so special to me-we practice handbells every week for our church.

I was MOTIVATED to get these done in time for the

Here is my Candle Luminary (for battery-operated candles ONLY) .

My Box Pleats tutorial is here, it will get you started if you want to make some also.

Once you've accomplished Box Pleats, trim it to be 7" high and stamp each "plateau" with a border stamp, before you do the folding.

Here is one done:

Time to fold....

AAAAHHHHH,

I could just stare at this beautiful stack of boxed pleats-they are so addictive!

For the "belt", I used the leftover strips and trimmed the white 1 1/2"X11";
the grey are 2"X11".

I scored them just as I did the pleats for the luminary, and glued them together, but instead of "plateaus" as the feature..the "valleys" are the feature.

I used glue along the "Plateaus" of the belt and a strip of 1/2" Scor-Tape to attach the ends.

The stamped & embossed Spellbinder label four is the "buckle".

Here are all the luminaries again:

From behind:

Although they are the same, each is unique in the speckling I did on top with two Copic markers.

I am also entering this in

Wee Memories Challenge 78 Free for All

Get Inspired in the Kitchen Challenge in the Moxie Fab World

inspired me to use those AWESOME  Mint Motif Beyond Borders stamp I just got!!!

I waited for months for it to restock...I literally STALKED I Heart Papers to see if it was back in.

They were so faithful in letting me know when they had more.

They didn't forget me!  sniff.

i heart them. ;)

Thank you for stopping by, hope you were inspired to create these.

~To Sheldon~

I have been inspired by Kristii's Post to create a hybrid card.

My Shelby sketched her snail, Sheldon, for me to honor awhile ago.

Wow, what inspiration that lil' guy was!

We originally bought him a year or so ago, to clean up after Stanley, Shelby's African frog.

We were told these snails live only 3 months.

I figured there would be Sheldon 1, Sheldon 2, ...you get the picture.

Sheldon defied stats and outlived his mean roommate who was always caught holding him like a hamburger!!!

In fact, he lived for about a year.

It was BAFFLING.

Shelby was genuinely saddened by his death, and I created these notecards with her precious Sheldon sketch.

I toyed with my Printshop to get the four colors you see.

Moxie Fab's Tuesday Trigger:Deck the Halls

had me think of circular items,

which led me to finish THE SHELDON PROJECT in multicolors.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting. ;)

~Embellish Challenge With Leaves~

I created a card today that was difficult to take a photo of (I'm sure you've had those!).

But, I did my best....

I used my Perfect Pearls Pigments with Versamark ink.
I love the shimmer.

 I love this sentiment!

~A Unity Flower~

I enjoyed making this simple card for any occasion.

The flower is from Unity.

I scored and fanned the DP to make a backdrop for the flower.

Isn't that trim fun?  It caught my eye at Wal-mart.

Supplies:

Unity Flower stamp,Kaisercraft rhinestones,Want2Scrap bling,Scor-pal,Memento ink

~Good Tidings and a Red Door~

I envisioned a red door, once I discovered this ODBD set.

My girls attend a class that has a red door...

Hope they get the meaning! ;)

The 3D gift box door was created with a 4X4 piece.

I stamped this beautiful ODBD door in the middle of it.

I used a blade to cut the door everywhere except the "hinges".

I colored the door with a Copic (it was easier to swipe with the broad head AFTER cutting the door out...I could fold it AWAY from the wall and work quickly).

Then, I scored 1/4" from every edge, then 1/2" also.

Fold it under at those folds and use 1/8" scor-tape on the outermost edge to secure to the card base.

(I stamped the sentiment and snowflakes from PTI before securing the door).

I used a small hole punch to create a hole on the door AND "wall".

I have this cool needle that splits in the middle, so you can take something as thick as this thread and string it through. (I wish I knew the name...I bought it blindly...but I'm so grateful for it).

Fun, huh?

It DOES fit in a regular envelope (hand carried, though).

Hope this springs some great ideas in your head~~~~~~

Thanks for stopping in. ;)

~Thankful for LovingTeachers~

My girls are so blessed

they have loving teachers in their lives.

I homeschool my girls....and of course I love them. ;)

But, there are others who regularly teach and inspire them with their love and kindness.

Sunday school teachers, dance teachers, and a piano teacher.

Instead of waiting until Christmas...I decided to show my appreciation now.

I don't believe they'll expect gifts this time of the year. ;)

Besides...there was this awesome Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin soap that was a great price...

I cut the tags out with a Sizzix die, added the Papertrey Ink apple die, and used several stamps to achieve the tag.

I scored the middle of the "book" to add a dimensional pocket for a couple of chocolates.

I got these gifts done before Thanksgiving!

PaperCrafts November 2011 Gallery Challenge is displaying our Thanksgiving inspired projects.

I chose traditional Thanksgiving colors to express my gratitude to these wonderful teachers.

I pray your day was full of crafty fun also! ;)

~True Happiness~

True Happiness

When my husband was close to his military retirement a few years ago, the mailman asked him,

"Are you retired?"

My husband answered the best he could at the time, "Well, sort of."

To which the mailman replied with a thick, southern drawl,

"Either ya are, or ya aren't".

We still use that phrase around the house. ;)

True Happiness.

Either ya have it, or ya don't.

Not a challenge...just a thought. ;)

I'm not sure what I will write in this card or to whom I will send it.

The sentiment just seemed to fit the card. ;)

Have a blessed day and thanks for stopping by.
