Transformation Tuesday Challenge #6

hosted by Stephanie Gold

is a great opportunity to redo/update!

It's also a chance to ink up a stamp set I haven't worked with in awhile.

Here is my new card:

stamps: Papertrey Ink Rosie Posie/Winter Woods sentiment  dies: Papertrey Ink Rosie Posie/Brushed Off Rectangle, Avery Elle Dotted Elle-ments

based off my old card:

stamps: Papertrey Ink Rosie Posie/Winter Woods sentiment  dies: Papertrey Ink Rosie Posie

I still love coral and stripes, but I steered brighter with a smaller  card base.

By matching Aqua Mist, yellow, and trendy black stripes with coral, I have a second Posie birthday creation for my card stash.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday Wishes

I am so ready for spring and I don't normally plant flowers...but boy am I thinking about it!

It's too cold for flowers at the moment~I picked the one and only dandelion on the one warm day this week.

Our rabbit was so excited...I feel bad he's going to have to wait awhile for another.

Guess I'll start with card flowers for now.

stamps: Verve Bloom Brighter/Great Friend/Borderline (retired)  dies: Verve Great Kindness/Pottery flower/Blooming/
Mini Classy Label (retired), Winnie & Walter In a World: Happy Cutaway

There's still time to join in at Inspired By where Laurel has the sweetest prompts...

http://theseinspiredchallenges.blogspot.ca/2018/04/inspired-by-time-to-garden.html

I let a white sentiment (and white space) pop and be star amongst colorful flowers (much like the white apron here supporting the picked florals).

Simon Says (Wednesday): Anything Goes

Simon Says (Monday): Flower Power

Mugs Amongst Yellow

I played with my blues, greens, and yellows today~

stamps: Verve Coffee Helps/Everything Nice/Bloom Brighter/Great Friend/Borderline (retired)  dies: Verve Blooming/Pumpkin Spice cup/Great Kindness flowers and sprigs/Beautiful Flowers sprigs/Cup for All Seasons cup/Mini Classy Label (retired)  other: Pebbles Cardmaking Pad 1

I was bouncing off colors and arrangements until I settled on the above card.

Here were my starting points:

by Laurel

http://coffeelovingcardmakers.com/2018/04/caffeinated-inspiration-sweet-tea/

and this lovely prompt at Verve.

https://vervestamps.blogspot.com/p/inspiration-challenge.html

No two yellows are alike, let me tell you.

I've been on the hunt for the perfect yellow shade of ink and I've since acquired enough to stop looking.

Well, maybe...no promises :)

I decided on Catherine Pooler and Simon Says Stamp yellows and matched the two with blue (leaving the largest flower open-outlined).

The cups were colored with Copics Cool Shadow and Lime Green (G21 for you fancy Copic peeps :)).

Thanks for looking~

Fun Character & a Punny Shaker

I have a messy craft desk, yes I do. :)

It's covered with lots of scrappy goodness.

This card is a result of assembling a left over flower, palm circle and lovely strips that I couldn't bear to file away.

All I needed was a fun character with a coordinating punny line.

stamps: My Favorite Things Llama Love, Papertrey Ink Palm Prints/Garden Party  dies: My Favorite Things Llama Love, Papertrey Ink Palm Prints/Garden Party, Lil' Inkers Dual Stitched Triangle Dies, free banner die from a Winnie & Walter order (thankyou!)  other: Pebbles Cardmaking Pad 1

I don't often assemble shakers, but this triangle interactive was doable.

There are lots of white layers in between and acetate within the outermost frames.

Oh it's FRIIIIDAYYY and I'm no more mature about it than when I was a child.

Yay for the weekend. ;)

Papertrey Ink April Blog Hop Challenge

Friends, I don't often JUMP on a new release the hour OF...but the Geode Layers dies and Agate stamp set were irresistible to me.

I literally had my hubby pause our tv show so I could order it once it hit the buy time.

stamps: Papertrey Ink Text and Texture: Agate/Garden Party  dies: Papertrey Ink Geode Layers/Garden Party  other: Zig Emboss Writer, Royal Langnickel Watercolor Artist Colors

When I saw the team's release samples...I couldn't get the chunky gold glitter outta my mind...

incorporated so much depth and texture to her samples and

picked up what clicked in my mind too (when she combined them with florals).

The Geode Layers are free form shapes that can be used for any type of card, just like deckled and brushed dies.

They will never leave my craft table~just sayin!

As for my card...

the following Blog Hop's pic drew my eye to the gilded trimmed cups and colors...

https://blog.papertreyink.com/2018/04/april-2018-blog-hop/

There were all sorts of shenanigans to achieve this 3D card!

I watercolored and pressed a saturated watercolored panel to another paper (innermost section of the "rock") for my blues.

I zig pen embossed the outermost layer with gold powder and added an acetate level under that.

On the next inner layer I glued chunky glitter.

I even popped up the outermost layer on foam squares.

Some flowers are in the rock...some are out (as well as the sentiments)...it was fun to just PLAY, you know?

I even fussy cut the "rocks" sentiment and added zig embossed gold lines to add even more gold.

I finally stopped so I could post it.

ha!

There is Always a Rainbow

Yay friends, we made it to Wednesday!!!

stamps: Pinkfresh Studio Dream On, Hero Arts/Sizzix On the Go Bike   dies: Hero Arts/Sizzix On the Go Bike, Avery Elle Wonky Squares

I haven't bicycled in ahem...years, truth be told.

However, if I were to play outdoors...this would be my way.

Hang in there and take it one hour at a time~

Just Have Fun

I managed to squeeze in some crafty play time....

stamps: Lil' Inker Designs Rat Race  dies: Lil' Inker Designs Dual Stitched Triangle

I featured purples for the following challenge...

http://justusgirlschallenge.blogspot.com/2018/04/just-us-girls-challenge-437color-week.html

The sentiment came to mind with the following word prompt~

http://inkspirationalchallenges.blogspot.ca/2018/04/challenge-159-play.html

I added sequins and rhinestones for

Simon Says (Wednesday): Sparkle and Shine.

Oh it's Monday...but I'm cool with it, because THE SUNNNNN finally came out in my neck of the woods.

I still need to wear jeans but the arms are making a comeback ;).

The Throne of Grace

stamps: Verve New Mercies, Essentials by Ellen Rustic Botanicals  dies: Pretty Pink Post Stitched Hexagons, Essentials by Ellen Rustic Botanicals

Thanks to Julee's lovely sketch, I have an encouragement card created.

I replaced the larger circle with a hexagon and the smaller circle with a flower.

You Were Born

I got a thumbs up from my eldest on this card~

stamps: Hero Arts Layering Graphic Flowers, My Favorite Things Anything but Basic Birthday Wishes  dies: My Favorite Things Wonky Stitched Circles

I give credit to this challenge~giving me the sketch and colors to jump from.

http://fusioncardchallenge.blogspot.com/2018/04/fusion-babys-room.html

My pink, grey and light blues are in different quantities than the photo.

The graphic flower "fringe" behind the sentiment was fussy cut.

I'm pretty pleased with using this tropical patterned paper without going all jungle on ya.

Thanks for stopping by!

Dream On Bicycle & Flowers

I saw this die cut bike in my extras stash and wanted to build from it.

Hero Arts/Sizzix On the Go Bike, Hero Arts Stamp & Cut Flowers, Pinkfresh Studio Dream On

I pulled reds and teals from the following photo, keeping the flowers in a stringlike arrangement~

http://theseinspiredchallenges.blogspot.ca/2018/04/inspired-by-hung-out-to-dry.html

http://www.ablognamedhero.com/2018/04/put-a-flower-on-it/

Here's a zoom in of the glitter washi and gelly roll doodling.

I woke up to snow on the ground, so I'm creating my own spring scene at the moment. ;)

In time, in time...

You're Amazing Sketch Card

If I start my day crafting...it's gonna be a good day. :)

stamps: My Favorite Things Because You/Sketchy Flowers    dies:My Favorite Things Wonky Stitched Circle, Avery Elle Double Pierced Rectangles
 This sketch was my inspiration~

http://www.cardchallenges.com/2018/04/wednesday-sketch-challenge-sketch-380.html
I haven't added buttons in awhile...that's a newish thing for me today.

We have barely any sun and dare I say wintry weather, but I'm still charged by our warm weekend.

Let's just say Imma solar panel :).

 Thanks for stopping by friends~

Sentimental Focus

Considering how often I'm late with sending cards...

I should tuck a few of these in my stash. ;)

stamps: My Favorite Things Anything-but-Basic Birthday Wishes  dies: My Favorite Things Die-namics Lip Balm Window & Frame/Inside & Out Stitched Stars

I have zero regrets purchasing the lip balm dies...even if I only use them for larger sentiments.

I'm a gadgety girlie and HAD TO HAVE them in my arsenal.

I used these colors, but I'm sure a masculine version with other colors would trade nicely here.

http://www.cardchallenges.com/2018/04/mft-color-challenge-91.html

Once again, I'm smitten with trend week at this challenge:

http://justusgirlschallenge.blogspot.com/2018/04/just-us-girls-436-trend-week.html

It motivates me to use those stripes I've been hoarding!

Praying your Monday flows better than usual~

Texture and Water Color Resist Coffee Tag Card

So many steps (and waiting) with this card, but it was fun!

stamps: Tim Holtz Coffee Time  dies: Tim Holtz Coffee Time,Simon Says Stamp Stitched Dress Up Tags, Avery Elle Double Perced Rectangles  other: Elmer's Rubber Cement,Tim Holtz Coffee Time Embossing Folder,Royal Langnickel Watercolor Paints,Copics, ribbon, stapler

The background was created with a technique I learned at Papertrey Ink
~watercolor resist with rubber cement.

I embossed the tag with a folder for~

Hardest part?...waiting for the watercolor to dry!

Once it was ready, I peeled away the rubber cement to reveal vibant swirls.

I think diecutting AFTER embossing or watercoloring gives a crisper panel~just sayin' :).

Thanks for stopping by~

Squad & Stripes

I was super tight with my gma when she was on this earth.

She. was. the. BEST.

Check this squad out~

stamps: Art Impressions SC0678 Got Style, Verve Poppy Birthday sentiment  dies: My Favorite Things Cross-Stitch Ovals,Sentiment Strip  other: enamel dots,Copics

Aren't they a HOOT?!

I wanna hang with them.

They know what they are about~rockin' their hats and posin'. ;)

There's a circular focal point for this challenge (and an AI stamp),

http://artimpressionsstamps.blogspot.com/2018/04/new-circlet-mtf-line-plus-challenge-230.html

not to mention... black and white stripes.

Yesssss to this pattern~I love it everywhere I see it.

I could create for days with this trend~

Pantone One Layer Spring

Got a colorful one-layer done today~

stamps: Essentials by Ellen Stay Golden/Abstract Paint Strokes

I inked abstract up to mimic the scrumptious~

It's another one layer for the following challenge~

http://timeoutchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/2018/04/challenge-107.html

Hey I went to see A Quiet Place TWICE within the past two days (once with my girlies and once with my hubby).

I highly recommend seeing it in a theater (I think I would have been distracted by a gazillion tasks if I tried the DVD later).

I also recommend skipping the popcorn.

You can hear EVERY SINGLE KERNEL BEING EATEN...

ha!

It was so well done and a jump scare type of thriller~

which btw, I'm not big on horror/thrillers.

Thanks for stopping by, have a good one, friends!

One Layer Spring Card

I recently acquired a Hero Arts springy floral set~

stamps: Hero Arts Color Layering Bouquet  other: torn washi tape for masking lines

With this challenge in mind, I went straight to inking!

http://timeoutchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/2018/04/challenge-107.html

To achieve the ragged stripes, I ripped my washi and attached them at the straight sides.

After sponging, I removed the washi strips~leaving a white space in the middle of this one layered card for the bouquet.

Simon Says Work It Wednesday March 2018 (fun inking technique)

Grandma's Vase

When Grandma passed years ago, I discovered her gorgeous blue pedestal bowl.

Dad had all her belongings displayed for us to claim.

I don't remember ever seeing this bowl;and it amazed me she had this glass art hidden away.

What wasn't hidden away, however, was her love for Jesus.

stamps: Essentials by Ellen Abstract Paint Strokes, Our Daily Bread Designs Time  dies: Lawn Fawn Puffy Cloud Borders

I didn't come to know Him personally until I was 29, but I remember her talking about Him every single moment we were together.

If you met my grandma...she would have mentioned her Jesus.

Check out Laurel Seabrook's Mindful Monday challenge...

https://laurelseabrookdesigns.blogspot.com/2018/04/mindful-monday-moments-blue.html

Blue is my favorite color...

it's the color of the ocean that surrounds my childhood island home.

I could look in any direction and catch a glimpse of it.

It was the color of my senior dress I designed (and hired someone to create).

It's the color of my favorite stone...Topaz.

There's nothing truer than blue, in my opinion~

The following photo inspired my rain card:

http://inkspirationalchallenges.blogspot.ca/2018/04/challenge-158-rain-photo.html

I used Essentials by Ellen Abstract Paint strokes to create the rain.

I went through my umbrella images then realized this Bible verse from Our Daily Bread Designs would be an "umbrella" so to speak. :)

Thanks for listening to my personals~have a good one friends.
