~Merii Kurisumasu~

Another NEW ADORABLE stamp to play with...

great opportunity to brush up on my Japanese Katakana.

I went to Japanese school (an hour after grade school) and followed up in High school.
I'm no expert, but I do want to share that there is a special alphabet, Katakana, which is used for English words said with a Japanese pronunciation.

Hence the special "Merii Kurisumasu" (meh ree kuu ree suu mah suu)...

or "Merry Christmas" as you know it. ;)

The "r"s are not pronounced "rrrrrr" but more like a "lllllllrrr" with a roll of the tongue.

It took forever to get that sound to come out of my mouth.

Believe me, I was corrected NUMEROUS times...

"MARINA-SAN, say it again....LLLLLRRRAAAA"

(Marina-san)...."rrraaa"

"ee-eh, (no)

...LLLLLRRRRAAAA".

No worries, I got it (it's embarrassing to twist your tongue and get it to cooperate in front of a room full of children)

It stuck. ;)

Inspiration from Textured to Perfection Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

Texture's there

with my Spellbinder stacked embossed circles creating lift in the background;

the bendy tree all bendy;

and the crumpled tissue (polka dot green) from
my blog candy win from Jaclyn Miller's blog (just had to credit her generosity one more time).

I also added a layer of stiff felt for the snow with scribbles of, well,
SCRIBBLES that are glittery by Duncan.

My colors are lended from Color Throwdown #164.

Thank you for stopping in today, it's always a pleasure when you visit. ;)

What a cute card! Those kids made the snowman his own origami hat - love it!!
