inspired me to use my gorgeous strips of DP that litter my desk.
My friend gave me a notepad that looked like a matchbook folder once.
It was on my mind when I designed this card.
Running out of adhesive?
Bring out your sewing machine!
I sewed on each strip for decor, and then I sewed across the top and bottom for support.
That way, when the front was tucked into the flap, the strips would bend with the card.
It's not going anywhere.
I used a postage stamp diecut (my new favorite shape) for
the Postage Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.
This is for my mom's birthday in June- she loves roses!
My colors were pulled from The PlayDate Cafe PDCC131.
Hope you have a great weekend. Take care now.

Beautiful design! Love the opening!
Beautiful!
Beautiful and oh-so-creative matchbook design, Marlena! Love the patterned papers sewn on too (great tip if running out of adhesive ;)
Pretty:)
What a great design, and love the sewing and the beautiful colors on the DP. Also read the "serious cardmaker" sidebar, and am thinking of those mornings before work, trying to the ink off of my fingertips in the shower, and wondering if anyone has commented on my challenge card yet! It's a great life!

Lovely card, Marlena! I like your ingenuity! Maybe you have actually motivated me to get out the sewing machine. I have resisted for a long time...Happy Mother's Day!
Fab end result from combining these challenges, Marlena! I like the 'rays' of skinny strips behind the rose postage.
Congrats on winning goodies from Flourishes....saw that today. You're a lucky duck!
