I want to thank all the sweet bloggers who stopped by and commented on my girls' cards~you rock!

If you haven't seen the cards, here they are: Amanda's, Shelby's, and Mallory's.

I'm so proud of my girlies~it was fun to craft and bond!

I had so much fun yesterday, I didn't get a chance to post my
 fall pinwheel card.

I used my Sweet n' Sassy leaf dies on some beautiful paper that came with my Eclectic Paperie order~thank you Kim!

I folded each leaf in for a pinwheel effect.

Some look like they are falling over and need to be caught!

Thank you DVR~forget the action scene!

I have paused with, "Whoa, check out that tree!"

My poor husband!

LOL.

I'm so grateful for the inspiration, though!

~My Big Bicycle Seat~

Last week I rode my bike!

It's been 5 years since I've done that.

I guess I held off for many reasons...but now that I'm a seasoned "bear spotter" LOL, I might ride my bike more!

It was exhilarating! ;)

I'll be honest, I'm just glad I made it home without falling.

I'm also grateful I didn't hurt the next day.

I'm sure I owe it to this humongous seat

which makes the ride, ummm... less tortuous!

I was blessed to hear that they had such a thing, so I want to tell the world about it! ;)

My family teases this "extra luxury" (it looks a little silly from the back)

 but I DON'T CARE....I've had three children!

LOL.

Did you see they sell gel ones now too???

I might upgrade someday! hee hee hee

Here's my card I created.

The brad allows the sentiments to swing....my gadget girl coming out!!!

I know the seat isn't "an exact replication" of the one I ride on...

but it IS more attractive! LOL

Doesn't that make you want to pull out your bike and explore? ;)

Have a blessed weekend and a wonderful Mother's Day tomorrow!

~Embellish and a Sketch~

Did you have a beautiful Easter?

Was it peaceful and serene?

Ours went well...we had a meaningful service with wonderful worship music.

Two of my girlies and I were a part of the handbell choir's presentation.

I won't lie to you...I messed up!

However, there was grace in the room and I pray God was glorified with our offer of praise.

As for crafting...
I'm so happy I was motivated to create a card combining a couple of challenges today.

It's a great way to start my week!

Here is my card...

*My Little Shoebox Summer Breeze-Flourishes Tiny Flowers and Tags sentiment-Versamark ink-Papertrey Ink Premium Dye ink Hawaiian Shores-Ranger embossing powder Antiquities weathered white-Want2Scrap baby bling-Martha Stewart All Over the Page Pattern Punch Caning-Piggy Tales DP-Bazzill Basics paper-Georgia Pacific White cardstock-Spellbinders classic circles-American Crafts ribbon*

The beautiful sketch is from CardPatterns Sketch 160 by Michelle.

The color and rhinestones were inspired by
Embellish's Jeweled Color Trends Challenge

I inked and embossed the doodle from My Little Shoebox's Summer Breeze and used baby bling from Want2Scrap to make it more special.

LOVE this Martha Stewart punch! It's fun to punch wherever you want-to get the look you want!

I know Mondays can be difficult...but hang in there!

Embrace life and it's beauty. It can be a lovely moment, song or hug.

Even better, make something pretty or yummy...you know you'll feel better!

Take care now.

Embellish Magazine Rosettes Color Trends Challenge

My rosette is made from diamond braided nylon rope I "flossed" over Staz On fuschia ink.

I say floss, because I held it like dental floss and pulled it back and forth across the ink pad as if cleaning teeth.

I adhered it to a cardstock circle with Scor-tape and glued it to my flower.

The flower was created with two different Dew Drop Memento inks applied directly to the cardstock in a circle.

I love making those type of flowers!

I started with the lighter pink and stamped again with plum over each petal for shading.

~Hope of Spring~

Embellish is back with a new challenge!

We have snow predicted here, but I am holding on to the PROMISE of spring-and I'm excited!

Although darkness shadows the day, sunshine is waiting to break.

The darker the day, the more the light will be appreciated.

I am willing to WATCH and wait.

~Embellish Mixed Patterns and Mount Everest~

Here's the stamp Ren-Yi sent me.

I am pleased with myself for using it so quickly. ;)

I have to admit, I was a bit intimidated by the idea of coloring the details in this scene, but I found a way around it.

I DELEGATED COLOR OUTSIDE OF THE IMAGE.

One hurdle down and another to go...

my fear of mixing patterned paper.

Mixed Patterns for Embellish Magazine
challenged me to do it anyway!

I'm not real comfortable with patterned paper...but I didn't want that to stop me from participating.

It's my own version of climbing Mount Everest!!!

I feel like a million bucks. ;)

What mountain have you climbed today???

~Forget the Scale~

I got inspired by the dreaded "scale" at the back of a hosiery envelope.

I cut it out to save for a card.

This is what popped in my head:

I know I will need to encourage some girlfriend by spring.

That girlfriend could be me!   LOL

I've already put on a few since Thanksgiving...sigh

A couple of challenges helped me get this card done:

~Embellish Challenge With Leaves~

I created a card today that was difficult to take a photo of (I'm sure you've had those!).

But, I did my best....

I used my Perfect Pearls Pigments with Versamark ink.
I love the shimmer.

 I love this sentiment!

Regardless of the poor photos, I DID enjoy the process. ;)

~No People Like Snowpeople~

I LOVE SNOWPEOPLE.

I USED to say "I love snowmen".

But then, I met her.

She's modeled after my Great-Aunt Grace who is 93!

Actually, Aunt Grace doesn't wear glasses...but I couldn't resist stamping these for her (Lawn Fawn Clear to See).

This 3D decoration shouldn't take up too much space in my aunt's room.

I used Papertrey Ink's Shape-Up Series Snowman Die and stamps.(oooh, I just caught that.)

I should write to them about changing it to snowpeople...

WINK. ;)

She's anchored to a Papertrey Ink coaster that's been decorated with DP (sanded on the edges to keep it from flipping up).

I wanted Aunt Grace to see that spool.

She would appreciate that I recycled that.

She spent MANY volunteer HOURS crafting gifts and delivering flowers to a local hospital (years back when she could).

Here's a shot of the other side.

I gave the tree a little depth with two sides.

I stamped snowflake "decorations" on the DP part of the tree.

My colors were inspired by Embellish Magazine's Die Cuts Color Trend.

Thank you for peeking in today. ;)

~Sticky Note Holder~

I made a project today to give as a gift.

The covers of this sticky note holder were based off Papertrey Ink coasters.

I wrapped them in 5x5 DP and glued a strip connecting them with a 4X8(or so) strip of DP...the ribbon glued between each sandwich.

The silhouette image was stamped in brown and clear embossed.

I cut it out with Spellbinder scalloped ovals and edged it with Memento ink.

There's a cinnamon stick glued inside for a wonderful scent.

Hope she likes cinnamon! ;)

I used my brown Copic marker to color the buttons.

My Heart's With You

There are many who are walking around without their heart.

It's in Heaven with their soul mate...

or traveling in far places like Afghanistan or Iraq.

No matter where their loved one is,

there you will find their heart.

I lived about 1/2 of my 19 years of marriage without my heart. ;(

It's not easy to do.

A Skirted Pleat

I wanted to do one more card for

Embellish Magazine's Paint or Mist Color Trends Challenge.

This time, it is more a turquoise hue than teal.

With my box-pleat technique...I was able to make this skirt.

This time, I used a thick DP and painted it.

You can see the original design within the pleats.
I pinched the "valleys" from behind, while I painted with DecoArt Americana asphaltum (brown) acrylic paint.

The decorated "plateaus" were stamped with a BoBunny wave stamp on separate pieces and applied to the skirt.

I wasn't taking any chances.  ;)

It was inked with light mocha and stamped first and then repeated with Scribbles turquoise 3D paint.

As long as you apply the 3D paint with a sponge brush, it will stamp flat.

I really like the shimmery color!

I hope you like it. ;)

~We Are In Love~

My hubby and I are still in love after 19 years of marriage.

Doesn't that sound better than "we still love each other after 19 years of marriage"?

C'mon, ya know it sounds way better. ;)

Here's a closeup.

Just in case you can't figure out my card...check out the title of this post.

*wink*

I don't want you to spend too much time wasted here...I'll probably have to "spell it out" for my husband too.

Being "in love" means we still love each other.

But said in a nicer way. ;)

I just showed love by choosing a nicer way to say "I still love you."

LOL

Love is a verb.
Amen?! ;)

Inspired by:

~Embellish Magazine's Paint or Mist Color Trends

There IS paint there...gorgeous 3D Scribbles Iridescent Shimmering Teal.  I used it to stamp the hearts and to "scribble"...'cause that's what it's created for.
