CASE Study Challenge #131

Julie Ebersole

Her card is GORGEOUSLY paneled, with florals as the focus.

I tried to do the same, except with a distressed panel.

Altered Clothespins

HELLO THERE!

One of my favorite words is hello.

All of the sad goodbyes from our military moves were preceded by wonderful hellos.

I was inspired by the

Papertrey Ink Contest:Gift Packaging Project.

I needed a little something to clip to a gift I have for a new family that moved to my area recently.

I can't wait to greet them with a "hello"...we've been sicky in our family and I've been holding off on giving them our welcoming gift (I don't want to greet them with new sickies too!).

These
Altered Clothespins
on Pinterest were what I based this project on.

I adhered patterned paper to clothespins (after separating them from the coil) with Scor-Tape and sealed them with Mod Podge.

The hardest part was replacing the coil~if it doesn't fit well, it might be flipped.

It should sit comfortably and not have to be forced into place.

Have a blessed day~thanks for stopping by!

~Let Us Not Become Weary~

Because of the heaviness in the air today...I am grateful for any motivation to create, among many things.

I'm sure you've been hugging your family like crazy, as have I.

I needed and wanted to create for the hard working Sunday School teachers that faithfully minister and pray for my girlies.

I created some ornament/gift holders today.

This one took exactly 9 minutes and 48 seconds.

I was inspired by Paulina's 10 Minute Craft Dash #8.

I'm so glad I bought the cinnamon car freshener clips and cranberry gels~

they were fun to coordinate with.

Here is the side that shows the gifts in a clear bag...they are secured by a strip of Scor-Tape.

The base is simply a strip of white cardstock 3 1/2" wide and 11" long, scored in the middle and finished with holes for the twine handle.

The ends are secured with three staples.

These are simple designs like these ornaments I made last year.

The main thing I changed, were lighter embellishments for gift giving.

I stamped the back, so it's pretty from every angle.

Here is another version, a few seconds off the 10 minute mark...using  the colors from

I used my FAVORITE ink, Rhubarb Stalk, for

Simon Says Stamp: What's Your Favourite?

May the Lord lift your spirits and help you to cope with the tragedies this season...

May you not become weary.

May you not give up.

Mailbox Numbers in Neon

I'm hooked on the

Keen On Neon Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

This time, I found THE PERFECT CHRISTMAS embellishments in my leftover

Mailbox Numbers stash.

I couldn't throw those away...they are sticky and durable!

They are paintable too~yay!

So I used my Elmer's Neon Paint Marker~

The message of Christmas is a NOW MESSAGE

and totally acceptable in NOW colors, if you ask me.

It's the first Monday in December...what a special month ahead!

Let Us Adore Him

Papertrey's challenge this week,

Make It Monday #92 Layered Vellum Die Cuts
hosted by Melissa

will take your card to a new 3D level.

Bring on the bright DP and layer it with vellum for a muted effect.

I love the inner belly goodness I was able to throw in between the vellum and DP layer-glitter and snowflakes.

I used the
Authentique November Sketch Challenge.

My colors are from

I couldn't do it....I could not bring myself to face the shopping madness.

Kudos to you who were brave enough to go out there and try! ;)

~Life Changes~

Sweet 'n Sassy Virtual Stamp Day

inspired me to put the teeniest, tiniest tag here...

I LOVE the bright colors of this week's throwdown.

I'm not always into embracing life's changes...are you?

However, WITH us or WITHOUT us accepting them~ they happen.

Can you imagine some things

 NOT CHANGING?

Ummm, that could be depressing or even boring.

What would there be to look forward to~

~11 seconds to spare~

tappa tappa tappa tappa tappa tappa tappa....

That's the sound of me desperately inking up a HUMONGOUS background stamp with a Memento Ink Dew Drop when I

dove in today for...

(while mentally placing a larger ink pad in my "virtual mind cart" to order  online later...) ;)

(9 minutes, 49 seconds)

You never heard such desperate tapping!!! LOL

It was my SECOND attempt, mind you....because my first card was CRASH AND BURN.

Note to self:make sure you have enough letter stickers to spell what you want.

Don't wait until the last "y" of Happy Birthday to realize you only have one "y" which was used for "Happy".

eekers.

That's ok, I like this second card better.

Live and learn, right?

There's still some time left to dive in...you got 10 minutes, right?

~Blog Header Card~

CAS-ual Fridays CFC72 has a GENIUS idea this week...
Toot Your Own Horn~create a project inspired by your blog header.

How cool is that????

I love it!

I think it's fun to read about the headers.

My youngest girlie wanted this cool citrus floatie~and to justify the cost...I thought I should use it as a prop. Had this great idea to put my crafties and some bright cards on it and let it coast!

Funny thing is...I wasn't worried about the cards (I give them away and they've been archived)...but I was seriously gulping once the float moved and I saw my Copics and stamp pads stare back at me all helpless like.

 IT WAS SAD!

After "the shoot" was over...I coaxed them over to me, whispering sweet 'nothings and "apologizing" to my favorite tools. ;)

You might be rolling your eyes right now...but try taking your faves and send them out into the middle of a pool and then we'll talk. ;) LOL.

It's so weird.  I didn't expect to react that way.

Ironically, they didn't make the final cut as the header, but did make it in the smaller pic at the bottom of my list on the left sidebar.

Enough chatter...here's the card:

I meant to create a "playful" card...but I started reflecting..as I always do when I stamp.

Our handbell choir is operating at 60% right now...each and every person matters in such a choir (AND IN LIFE)~RIGHT?!

You don't have to be a big slice to matter in God's eyes.

You matter because He says you matter.

"And the eye cannot say to the hand, "I have no need of you"; nor again the head to the feet, "I have no need of you. No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary." 1 Corinthians 12:21-22

AMEN?!

I'm curious to see the blog header interpretations this week....

Take care friends~

~A Wooden Tree~

Make It Monday #83:Card Aisle Inspiration

I found one to case!

Here is my card...

I used the lines from Teach & Inspire and the snowflakes from In the Meadow.

I am also submitting this to Papercrafts September 2012 Gallery Challenge:
natural elements.

I've had the wooden tree from way back in the day when I was a crafter~vs mostly a cardmaker.

I love the whimsical shape of it.

~Season of Change~

Unfortunately, a sympathy card is needed.

Sometimes I get too stuck on, "What do I say?"~I'm glad this sentiment made it easier.

I kept it simple for

the Virtual Stamp Day at Sweet 'n Sassy's (actually, it lasts a few
days...YAYYYY!!!).
Create a card using at least three of the colors of Fall:
red, orange, yellow, green, and brown and ADD Kraft.

The Kraft can be card stock, twine, or ribbon.
There's green (Pistachio),orange and brown.
The leaf is die cut from Kraft.

I used staples for the rawness of change.

I pray if you are feeling raw today...that it soften more and more over time.

Supplies:

Stamp:Sweet 'n Sassy Season of Change
Dies: Sweet 'n Sassy Season of Change Leaf Die, Papertrey Ink Movers and Shakers Spinners Die Collection
Paper:Bazzill orange,Papertrey Ink Kraft,Studio Calico Abroad DP

Ink:Tsukineko Memento Ink Pistachio

~Dress Accordingly~

I picked up a few new tops the other day.

When I snipped the tags...I was tickled to find a treasure...

A PERFECT SENTIMENT ON A GORGEOUS CANVAS!!!

I ripped the top half off to reveal the sentiment (reattached it below) and added the gold elastic.

I've got a couple more~what a blessing!

There's a paahhhh-TEH going on at Sweet 'n Sassy's September Fall Frenzy.

Also, I had in mind Moxie Fab's Tuesday Trigger:Envy Becomes You

I love the color combo.

I figured the fashion sentiment would bring to mind the snazzy shoes.

I used Memento Pear Tart and Teal Zeal to mimic the colors here.

Ummmm, envy never looked great on me.

Just sayin'. ;)

~Rustic Jar of Sea~

There are so many fun challenges to play with...it's hard to choose sometimes, isn't it?

I DO LOVE how they inspire and motivate me to finish a card, though!

I picked up some of this and that which were sitting on my desk~waiting for a card to call home.

I used a jar filled with the "sea" for the
Jars of Joy Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

I added birthday banners for the
There She Goes Birthday Celebration Day 4:Banners
with a birthday theme.

CASual Fridays CFC69:Embossing
