~Apart for Now~

You've got to go there and check out the inspirational photos...WOWZA! ;)

(Lawn Fawn Bon Voyage,Tradefish sentiment,Papertrey Ink premium dye true black,American Crafts AC cardstock neutral pack,Pink Paislee DP,Memento ink markers for the camouflage,MS fringe scissors)

My husband served 22 years.

We are retired now, but the military life was where we started.

There were many moments lost (birthdays and firsts).

What was missing God has put together and given back times 100. ;)

Thank your service people and pray for not only the soldiers...but those who are left behind.

Also, pray for their reunions!

Piecing a family back together is the hardest struggle, sometimes, when the adrenalin rush and "I miss you" is done.

You've got a marriage that was spent mostly apart-sometimes you're almost strangers.

It takes a lot of work, faith, communication and GOD first to keep it all together, ya know?

~Gone, But Not Forgotten~

I've never participated in Wee Memories before...

but I figured I'd give it a shot. ;)

The challenge is Wee Memories Challenge #77:Woodland Animals

I had the woodland animals to stamp with and camouflage coloring I mimicked.

I folded back the panel to reveal sentiments that go without saying...but they are always on the mind of those who are dealing with deployments.

Thank you for stopping in today...have a blessed Thanksgiving! ;)

Cafe Colors, Embossing and Movement

I used resist embossing by stamping in Versamark and heat embossing with clear embossing powder.

I used a makeup sponge to apply the blue Memento ink.

Thank you for peeking in. ;)

What's Up Buddy?

Less is More Week 28 One Layer Card's Challenge has some AWESOME entries...give it a looksy!

I went with this fun image to also include it in Paper Craft's August Gallery Challenge.

I inked the image in Versamark and used a Reverse Stamp to transfer the image to the paper.  Then I inked up and stamped it "normal" (lower right). Then I used black embossing powder.

A little swipe of ink on each image was all I needed to hopefully convey that these are two different girls.

I used an oval cutter to "almost" get an oval.

I like the fun, unexpected shape it created.

Thanks for peeking in! ;)

Missing You in So Many Ways

I must be healing.

I was able to make a card for my friend to send her deployed husband...

without crying my eyes out.

Thank You Jesus!

It's really a blessing, when I don't get emotional about deployed soldiers...

so much so that I CAN'T DO ANYTHING for them.

It's about time I made cards for my friends!

I stamped the background with my largest clear acrylic block.

That's right, no stamp, just the block.  One spritz of water after inking up, and you have a handmade background.

Thanks for peeking in today. ;)

Stamp-A-Faire #9 A New Perspective

Stamp-A-Faire #9

"Your challenge is to look at your stamps in a new way, turn them, rotate them at new angles and see if YOU can come up with anything unique!"

This is probably the most CAS card I have EVER done.

I hear the thunder rolling...and our power went out last night.

I'm not taking any chances. ;)

The "glasses" were taken from this image in Papertrey's Game On

I used painter's tape to tape off the rest of the image. ;)

Then I scored the bottom for SOMETHING.

Straight Lines Scare Me, But I'll Get Over It

CAS-ual Fridays has Color Blocking this week!  EEEEEEKKKKK!

I love the IDEA of color blocking.

I have been wanting to try it...oh, just for the fun of it.

But as I have tried to work on this for a day in a half.....

....I remembered....

STRAIGHT LINES SCARE ME!!!!

I am sure there are some deep rooted issues...

......haven't gotten to the bottom of it.

1.  I am borderline OCD, so I don't like to encourage that.
2. There are so many EXPECTATIONS.
(Like, keeping it STRAIGHT for example. ;) )
3.  It is just plain HARD. ;(

Enough whiny...sorry...

IT IS FINISHED.

OK, I cheated a weeee bit...I HAD TO PUT A LITTLE TILTY, OK????

It's for my own sanity! ;)  SERIOUSLY!!!!!

I'm not kidding. ;)

Oh, my favorite part..of course, it is in the Tilty TV...

How fun is it to frame stuff in a TV?

I HAD to add a splash of pretty in this calm card.

HAD TO.

Not a biggie, but I stamped the wood grain strips with fun colors too.

The TV and sentiment???

Such a fun set I was blessed to win from PaperCraftsConnection and Tradefish Designs.

Ok, I was scared, but I Got Over It.  I am a better person for it, I am sure. ;)

Thanks for listening to my whining. ;)
