Sweet Baby and a Pinwheel

I have very few baby stamps...

which is no biggie..except when I want to make a baby card!

 I am thrilled a bitty 4"X4" baby card got done today.

I stamped half of this basket stamp, and colored it in with a Memento marker.

Then I stamped the sentiment in the frame, colored and cut it.

I attached it to the basket with thread.

The "blanket" was made with Misc. quilt stamps (there isn't a label on them...) and colored in.

I ran it through my Corrugator horizontally and vertically to make it soft, like fabric, and cut it in half.

Both sides were "rolled" to create a sandwich.

I inserted the cute little pinwheel...but it isn't glued in.  

It can be positioned to the left or right.

Wouldn't these make cute place cards for a baby shower?

A Moving Pinwheel and Throwdown Colors

I finally used my pinwheel die to make a pinwheel.  

I've used it before, to make a faux windmill.

I used a mini craft stick for the "handle".

My border is from my Growing Wild grass stamp which I stamped multiple times with Memento's New Sprout and Rich Cocoa ink (twice...once with full application and again for a lighter look).  

It's on a strip to look interesting...I wasn't going for a realistic look.

The pinwheel is attached with a brad to the card, so it can turn however you choose.

I count that as movement...

A Windmill That Was a Pinwheel and a Plaid Dad Card

     Mark's Finest Papers Challenge #56 calls for tone on tone cards with the main image popped up.

     My popup is cut from a pinwheel die from Lil Inker.  I mounted the blades on a lighthouse to give the illusion of a Windmill, but only used 4 dies instead of the 6 a pinwheel would have.  I then fringe cut the blades to make them more masculine..the curve is really cute, but thought it might be too cute for this card I am giving to my Dad.

    The image is from ODBD Keep My Lamp Burning.  Can you tell how much I love this set?  It is so versatile!  I have wanted to make a windmill for awhile now, and originally bought this set to do that!  Since I incorporated plaid, I am entering a second card in ODBD Plaid or Gingham challenge.
