GRUNGE FUN SNOWMAN

This surprise card kept on morphing every time I fiddled with it.

By the time it was done, I stepped back with a "hmmmm, I think I like it" response.

It started off with slight edging on the focal panel~I didn't intend for it to lean SO FAR into fun grunge.

Believe it or not...that pink background started off as neon pink~but once I started shading...it became, well, another shade of pink. ;)

Maybe I'll be using my neons more often...

My fluffy snowflakes were achieved by off-stamping with Tim's Black Soot on scratch paper and giving it a twist before lifting off the cardstock.

Since the closest white I had on hand was a liquid paper pen, I scribbled with it.

I'll be using it more often since my white Uni-ball pen is precious to me and I need it for personalizing/signing dark cardstock creations.

This photo was my jumping off point...

I love the way snow simplifies the world to black and white...

where only bright colors stand out and are highlighted.

I mimicked the rustic feel with my traced out snowman.

BoBunny's Zip-A-Dee Doodle collection is my NEWEST favorite...esp. since it's mostly black, white, blues and greens.

I might try my hand at more grungy creations...esp. since the fuzzy snowflakes were so fun to do!

I wonder what else I could blur???

  2. How much fun is this card - and you've captured the essence of the inspiration photo wonderfully! Your technique explanation - delightful! Glad you 'blurred' the lines of a number of elements - worked like a charm!!
