(stamps:Altenew Mini Blossoms,Verve Graph Paper Plain Jane,Hero Arts Thoughtful Messages dies:My Favorite Things Die-namics Cross-Stitch Oval Stax)
I am inspired by the primary color challenge...thank you for motivating me to get my thank you cards done!
I'm still working on those thank you cards...
(stamps:Altenew Mini Blossoms,Sweet 'n Sassy Precious Poppies die:Avery Elle Wonky Stitches Elle-ments)
oops...I missed the deadline here.....
I love the way she incorporated primary colors and that bit of pattern (I added a dash of gingham and smidgen of sequins).
My youngest started school last week...
I'm retired from 16 years of homeschooling, guys.
Just like that~
God called me to do it when my oldest was 4 (I didn't wanna btw....)...
He convinced me and I gave it to Him every year and stuck with it....
with delegating some of the harder (for me) classes such as Algebra to a study center.
This year He called me to let go.
I've never had to meet a school bus as a parent before.
I had to chase it down the first day because I misunderstood the exact spot where the bus would meet my teen.
My poor kid.
She handled it with grace...saying "eh, I'm the new kid;it happens".
GOD BLESS HER!!!!
I pray I get my act together "doing school" for her sake.
Now if I could figure out how to order her lunches online....

I'm working on thank you notes for those that showed up to Shelby's party and those who sent flowers for my mother-in-law's funeral.
They will get done, one at a time.

I'm rushing out the door...wish I had time to type more...

Hey friends, it's been a tough week.
Things have been really real.
Like, realer than real ~ joy and sorrow all wrapped up into what is simply life.
Long story short...we celebrated my second girlie's graduation (yay!!!) on the 13th...but literally two hours before guests arrived...
we got a call that my mother-in-law was found dead...she had passed in her sleep.
What do you say, do, THINK...
in a situation like that?
Please help me Jesus.
I called my prayer warrior friends...wiped my eyes... and we
still welcomed people to our home.
With our hearts breaking we celebrated...
...because Grammie would have wanted it...
because her death and absence was not going to get any easier from this day on...
and because God gave us the grace to do this...this day.
The day my husband lost his mother...
my girlies lost their grandmother...
and I lost my friend.
Plus, if you knew my mother-in-law...you knew she would have been MAAAAD if we didn't move forward with this gathering to celebrate my Shelby.
Here's a shot of what we prepared before guests arrived (literally last decoration hung before that heart wrenching phone call)...
God wasn't surprised by the timing, I just know it.
Hours earlier, and we would have scratched the whole thing, obviously.
However, people that love us were coming here to celebrate...and what would my daughter have to remember that day?
Guests arrived...hugged us and loved on us and we all tried our best to process the shock.
It really was a beautiful day...despite it being such a shockingly sad day too.
It's amazing how God helps us with that.
Oh yah...you came to see my card...
(stamps:Verve Borderline/Coffee Helps dies:Verve Mini Bookplate)
It's simple, but straight, and straight is an accomplishment for me!
Hope I didn't bum you out...that wasn't my intention.
I'm all over the place with emotions this week~I hope you understand.
Please bear with me friends.

I've got great friends scattered all over the globe~I'm sure you do, too!
Ugh, I hated the goodbye when it happens, but life moves us all over the place, and it just IS.
This sentiment is appropos~but I'm hoping I don't have to use it anytime soon, you feel me?

I think the floral image works well for this monochromatic look at the first day of CAMP.
How fun is this campy kind of challenge???
I love this...camp fun without the mosquitoes and awkward cabin changing.
Last time I actually stayed at a women's camp...I woke up scolding "my kid" ruffling through stuff.
UM, it was a fellow camper I had just met that day.
She was all chill.
I, on the other hand, was mortified.
This kind of camp, where I'm sleeping in my own bed,
is safer for everyone. ;)
I'm also submitting this to
(forget me not stamps and word "forget")
Thanks for stopping by today~

Because I already had the supplies out, and there was this cool negative left by my previous Because You die~I made a card for my daughter.
She seriously makes me laugh until my sides ache!!!

Because this sketch inspired me...
Because anything can go here...
Because when I have a theme...I run with it.....
Because I care enough about you to let you move on with your day.... ;)
